only complete cure to my avoidant

Postby dave1234 » Thu Oct 04, 2018 10:45 pm

I went to the dentist for a procedure, and was prescribed vicodan. when taking it, suddenly im not anxious in social situations at all. Small talk with a cashier becomes enjoyable and even gives me a boost. Normally the same interaction is a near panic attack. rumination stops, aand no more shame attacks

I know enough about drugs to know it wasn't sustainable. Nor will I try to chase the feeling

Its just a bummer, maybe the biology of avoidant will be figured in my lifetime

Opiates don't do it for me. For me it's stimulants. I could definitely see myself falling down the rabbit hole of addiction if I had them around, but i wish I could do them every once in awhile. There hasn't really been anything that compares to drugs. And unfortunately, not the legal, easy to obtain pharmaceutical psychotropic drugs.

It is irresponsible, at best, to recommend potentially dangerous controlled substances as a cure for a painful and/or debilitating psychological addiction.

Vicodin? Come on, man.

I didn't recommend it , and I never mentioned treating any psychological addiction, so that's just confusing

opiates have been trialed and sometimes prescribed off label for treatment resistant atypical depression

https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... plications

ive always felt like there is a link between AVPD and atypical depression
