Do you tell others about AvPD? (Family, colleagues, etc)

Yes. Told my parents in early 2011. My mother has made some strides at trying to understand me. I have been utterly amazed at my father's lack of effort to try and understand me.

So be careful who you tell. Topics like this have been discussed in the past. About half of avoidants regret telling their family and the other half are glad they told their family. It really depends on your family or colleague's disposition.
