yes, i understand that things could get better....but what i am saying is that i have realised now that if they do, it still won't help

You're saying that now when things aren't going so well, but maybe if they did get better you might realize that you feel differently. You may one day be able to do things that you couldn't dream of doing today.

Looks like I've given up then.

I am interested in why you think that it's a great step towards recovery? The answer to that is probably staring me in the face, but after thinking about it for a while, I still can't see why myself.

Hey,

I think that it is a good step to recovery because if you accept that you are depressed (and might always be) it is then actually easier to forget about 'being depressed'. In my opinion, the best recovery for any mental illness is to just forget about it. If you go down the road of psychotherapy it can take a very long time to recover.

I am basing this fact on personal events by the way - It is not just a theory. However, it might not be true for everyone.

Nina, I dislike many of the things that bring joy to other people too. But, everybody else aside, isn't there something that only you can enjoy?

Ok, that actually makes a lot of sense, I can think of instances in the past where this as happened to me too, with things like work, or dating/relationships.

Thanks for that Chucky 8)

PS - I hope I didn't sound rude earlier, I didn't mean to be rude at all, I've just been feeling really crap lately.

i wish there was, but....not at the moment.....i feel like i am completely losing all hope....i know it shouldn't matter what other people enjoy, but i am talking about things like relationships and having someone to talk to, things i am really sad about not having at the moment, but i know if i did i wouldn't cope with it anyway.......ummm i don't know how to explain it better than that....it's just....all slipping away....forever.....

thanks for asking though......sorry to be so negative....i am just really losing it this week and it's hard to even explain....

Maybe you just aren't ready for those things right now. You might need some time to 'recover' - What do you think? Give yourself all the time you need for there is no rush. My hand will always be extended and ready to accept you for who you are.
