Withdraw from all or just the catalyst?

Postby Skog » Fri May 26, 2006 6:53 pm

When you withdraw because of how someone acted toward you, do you withdraw from everyone, or just that person or a group of which that person is a part?

I withdraw from everyone. For instance, if Person A has slighted me in some way, I stop talking to everyone and avoid everyone – not just Person A and Person A’s friends. I don’t want Person A to think I’m mad at him/her, nor for others to think I’m mad at Person A. I do want someone to ask me what’s wrong, preferably Person A, but others would do.

Anyone else react that way?

I withdraw from just that person, but not forever.

It depends on the situation but usually I withdraw from that person for awhile and withdraw from everyone else for just a short period of time.

i'm pretty withdrawn from everyone all the time anyway, but yeah, if i'm stupid enough to let someone close enough for them to be able to hurt me, i will hide away even more...from everyone, but there's not really much difference between how i act in that situation and how i act the rest of the time...because i try to prevent it from happening by staying in my own little world, separated from everyone else...and the cycle goes on hehe...

I guess it depends, but usually I will withdraw from everyone for a short time, and from the offending person permanently.
