And we can't have anybody knowing you're online..

For me it works perfectly, I am not seen online and don't have to logout and login again.

You know you're AvPD when you have depression and recurring suicidal thoughts but you never go through with it because you know you could survive and end up having to talk to people about it and not have answers to anything they ask because you don't know why you have depression.

So true!

Makes me wonder where that leaves me.

When you know you will have a forenoon without appointments next week and you already plan ahead what you will do then, because less people are on the street then and you have a whole list of things to be done stocked up which you normally avoid to do because it involves too much human interaction.

When you have friends but you secretly wonder why they even like you in the first place

When your brother and his friends come in the house and you're so terrified of them knowing that you're there that you hide in the bathroom until they're gone

When you can't play online video games because one time someone online told you that you weren't good at it and now you're too scarred to go back

When you make up excuses for not seeing your friends because you know if you do see them you're just going to think that you're inferior to them and you're a terrible person compared to them and you can never say the right thing

You fail your first year of uni because you need glasses but the fear of ridicule or actually going to the optometrist is too much. You fail the second year because going there with people knowing you failed the first time around is unbearable.

You talk more to imaginary people on the phone because standing outside waiting runs the risk of people actually talking to you.

You daydream about contracting a fast working deadly disease because suicide has too much of a negative stigma.

^Or because you are afraid you will fail and then it would hurt like hell making you even more miserable.

You know you're AvPD when...

you find this thread and you start crying feeling elated that you are not alone and what you are has a name.

you spend two hours in the shower freezing till you turn blue to avoid saying hello to your snarky cousin who is out in the kitchen chatting with your grandma. When you can't stay in any longer, she greets you with a snarky comment anyway...

you are at a party and there are too many unfamiliar faces so you spend most of the time in the bathroom till they have to drag you out because the will cut the cake.

you were a student and pretended not to have money to avoid going to the theater with your school, and you feel violated when a nice professor pays for your ticket so you don't miss out. Damn!

you were sent to a summer camp and spent a significant amount of time hiding alone behind a parked car close to the exit listening to your radio, hoping no one will find your hiding spot. Then they find you and drag you out of there.

you find out you are pregnant and you are excited because morning sickness is such a perfect alibi to avoid most human interaction.

you'd rather be shot than apply for a job because you know they will reject you for being weird and stupid once you get to the interview.

you are sooo happy when the family car breaks down and you have no money to repair it, because now your significant other will not drive you and pick you up from work asking you what you are thinking about and busting your chops when you just want to stare into space.

You Know You're BPD When...

1. you immediately close the chatbox/ browser/ social-networking app after sending a message because you are afraid that the other will ignore you and you cannot stand the nervousness during the wait for reply.

You know you're AvPD when you can relate to this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuxss1kBQWw

You also know you're AvPD when you use music to communicate your personal issues...
