When you receive an unsolicited PM and have to go full on private dick mode, reading every post made by the person in order to determine if they are "safe" or not before you even think about responding.

when there is another person with your name, someone calls this person, you look up thinking he was calling you, then you think, "why I have to be such an egocentric?"

when you leave a place without explanation, suddenly.

...a vendor offers to take you out to lunch at a local hotspot, and you're visibly relieved when you show up and you two are the first (and only, for a while) customers there.

Plus, the hostess was nice and sat the big party later on, far away from us. :D

When one of your lesser known family members takes a seat next to you at the Christmas lunch table, and you're vigilantly guarded and tense for the moment they inevitably strike up a conversation, then find out how lame/weird you are, and finally reject you.

But then you find out he was a pretty cool guy, and none of that ever happened.

Brilliant. This has happened to me on many occasions!
One does not simply recover in a day.

Diagnosed MDD and BPD, and I suspect AvPD.
I feel like I can't go on, but here I am still crawling onward.

Oh look, more $#1T...I was wondering What to do with the rest of my day.

when you see the last post in a thread was created 2 weeks ago and you debate for more than an hour if your post is really important enough to bump it.

when you stay up until 2am every night just to 'delay' the next time you have to go to work.

when you wake up after 3 hours of sleep and want to pretend to be sick for work, but then you would have to call work, call a doctor's office go to said office to talk to the receptionist then talk to the doctor who knows you are just faking anyway and finally call work again to report how long you will be gone for, which will be only this one day anyway since you are not sick in the first place.

when you won't quit the job that you hate, because you would have to find a new job, which would mean having job interviews, making phone calls and meeting new people who expect way too much from you.

when you get a call from a number you do not recognize and don't take it, even when they call multiple times per week for a month. And taking it at this point would be even worse since they would now ask "why didn`t you take the call before?"

when you think about the perfect couple in that perfect relationship you made up a long time ago, and get depressed every time because you will never have such a relationship.

I identify so much with your thread and most others here. I'm still finding it incredible to identify with so many people. I have never had that feeling before. Im so glad i found this forum

also on the spur of the moment you invite a close family member over for next weekend for what should be a low key relaxing evening and you are already worrying about it and hoping they will cancel

When you can't bear to check your phone for messages and are pleased when there are none there

We all feel like that here from time to time, I'm sure. But then again, we're all outcasts anyway.

This is like everyday of my life. The worst thing is if you're staying with family for the holidays and you have to go to the bathroom/are really hungry but they have guests in the kitchen so you can never leave the guest bedroom as long as they are still there.
