Audio Description

Postby Western » Wed Jul 23, 2025 10:08 am

I find that I struggle to watch television programs and movies

Sometimes I'll watch the same episode 3 times over back to back and I still don't know what's going on
And that's even when I am interested in what I'm watching

Anyway last night when I was in bed I accidentally had the audio description on my tablet and I just couldn't turn it off...i think it was jammed

But I found this to be an asset because it helped me to focus on the show so now I know what's going on

It's fantastic I tell you

Try it!

Re: Audio Description

I have autism as well as ADHD, I haven't tried audio descriptions, but if I'm watching a movie I haven't seen before, I usually look it up online, because I need to know what happens as I don't like suspense or surprises, but mainly because I totally miss the subtleties in the storyline, or the language used goes over my head, and I'm left going "huh?" constantly.

I find having the noise down but still audible- I don't like loud noise anyway, and the subtitles on helps me focus on what's going on better.

But I will have to try audio description next one I watch. Thanks for the suggestion.
