Hi, I'm 16 years old and I have ADHD and I used to take Ritalin a long time ago from age 5 to 10 and I don't really remember the side effects from it but my mom told me I used to act like a zombie and act like I didn't care most of the time... Anyways my question is does Ritalin stop intrusive/obsessive thoughts? because for as long as I remember I used to obsessed over every thing and its gotten to the point that it stays on my mind 24/7 and I can't get it out of my head

Hello, welcome to the forums. Proper medication may not stop all the symptoms, but from what I've noticed it makes them a lot easier to deal with. So the thoughts may still come, but it may be in fewer number and easier to just push out of your head. The zombie thing can actually be the wrong medication for you, best thing to do is work with your doctor and find a medication that works well, that you're comfortable on. It's not a magic cure all, but it does help a lot.

This is actually extremely alarming. I tried Ritalin as well and it did the same things for me except I would not anything.
The intrusive thoughts is dangerous and this can manifest into OCD and other negative possibilities. I would recommend *mod edit* I've dealt with my ADHD for over 15 years and tried a variety of medication. The best (IMO): Adderall.
