Postby Supersonicfreak15 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 10:42 pm

today I was picked on a isolated from a group because of my obsessive interest with hedgehogs...I'm already kinda used to it because this is the 4th time this has happened, anyways this one person convinced the people I'm comfterable with that im "weird" and "unsocial". I've been through this alot and it doesnt hurt as much as it did the first few times... Could use some support though :/

Probably scared you're going to unleash an army of hedgehogs on them.

In serious though it is tough being 'outcast' for being a 'weirdo' or whatever, I especially dislike the word 'freak', even in jest, just goes right through me.

What sort of situation was this in? I assume school or something.

I still can't tolerate things like this happening to myself. However, if you're dealing with it better than you had before, that's good. I don't personally know why you'd be isolated for liking hedgehogs so much, though. They're pretty awesome. When I found out they chew on dead animals (like toads) and then lick their quills with the carrion-saliva to make them smell and also into an infection hazard, I began thinking them bad-ass.

There's always that one "huge" thing people will get irked about, and use that to somehow belittle you for being different in other ways. Meh. Those people are socially retarded.

if researching and learning about hedgehogs makes you happy, don't let them beat you down. There are plenty of people out there who love animals, and would be interested in learning about hedgehogs. Hedgehogs aren't a talked about animal, so it would be neat learning about em for any animal lover.

If someone has to pick on someone else, just think of the problems they might have. Self-esteem maybe? bad family life? could be any number of things. Yes, they are assholes, but try to understand that they may not be picking at you specifically, and are just picking on SOMEONE cause they feel that's how they have to handle life. It's no excuse for their behavior, but it may help you come to terms with it.

Q: How'd you come about being interested in hedgehogs anyway? Like I said, they aren't a commonly talked about animal, so I'm interested on how you came to being drawn into them.
This sloth doesn't understand the statement.

there are lots of theories for why hedgehog annoint things but my hedgehog does it with different animal feces, its really discusting but interesting, but i agree with you, it seems to be the best reason to me, makes the most logic scents

all my life i wondered why people wouldnt except me, but i guess they dont like figurung out people, human beings are very selfish animals.

it all started when i got interested in sonic the hedgehog in 2009, i learned lots of facts about him, so much i felt that i covered everything there is to know. i noticed they were selling hedgehogs in my local pet store, i was interested and asked my parents more then 100 times, they refused. it was only until 2010-2011 i was being bullied and alienated from school which led to depression. My mom then gave me the permission to get a hedgehog. before getting it i reaserched for months and months and thats all i could talk about. finally i got my hedgehog. so to sum it up. it was a migration from Sonic to hedgehogs. however sonic is still my very favorite out of my two major interests and helped me when making characters.
