How to ask an aquiantance to hang out?

Postby EBR » Wed Dec 28, 2011 3:16 pm

As the title would suggest, how do you ask a coworker, class mate or the like to accompany you for lunch or watch a program etc without coming across as being weird or creepy? I am NOT talking about dating; just good old fashion comradery.

I would recommend a solo flight to all prospective suicides. It tends to make clear the issue of whether one enjoys being alive or not.

Would you like to have lunch together?

Would you be interested in watching this show together?

(Only speculating mind you, it doesn't seem like this sort of thing comes up very often that it isn't just impromptu and spontaneous).

Heres how it works. If your come off as creepy in general, when you ask youll be creepy. If you come off as a cool person in general, when you ask youll come of as a cool person. Your prior interaction has already built the impression. They have already formulated the answer to your question before you asked it. All you can do is ask it now to figure out what the answer is.

Zausel speaks wise words. I can only second that. You'll just have to go for it and take whatever comes your way. One learns by trial and error, not by thinking about it.

So I am basically doomed before I even started. Sigh.

Well, nothing new there.

well, you have to deal with yourself 24/7. You'll likely over analyze yourself. What your brain says, isnt always what someone else sees. You may think your being creepy, but the other person may think your funny and nice. But due to the over analyzing you project your own analysis onto them, and can likely screw up a potential friendship/relationship by your own doing. Perception is individualistic. You'll never know that individuals perception on you, til you try it.
