Hi there,
well I'm happily married (I have Autism, not Asperger's and I'm very silly and a nut but my husband is identified by our Aspie friends as Aspie). I was unhappily married before (stupidly) to someone who was probably Aspie but I think may have had some dark nasties in there too... anyway, I have a friend who was in a relationship 20 years... longer than most non-Auties... most of my Aspie friends have degrees. a lot of them are out of work but I hope that will change as we start to market our own employability instead of waiting for agencies. Anyway, not all aspies are 'suffering'... some are, some aren't... but lots of non-Auties suffer from their non-autistic condition so what's different...people are people are people. I wrote a lot about autie friendships in Somebody Somewhere and I wrote about Autie Spectrum sexuality in Everyday Heaven, including my own bisexuality. Hope that fills some gaps for you... so we all come in lots of different colors and many of them are colorful.
Warmly,
Donna Williams
ever the naughty autie.
