I'll make this thread carded.

Make it cheddar rated instead. Then Robot575 gets some cheese, and anyone who doesn't have sufficient vintage or bite has been warned. :mrgreen:
No diagnosis, lots of opinions, and a bunch of issues that I haven't quite figured out.

Figures the cow wants a cheese based rating system.

Well comparing those two isn't really a fair comparison;
Hero made the first turbine ever. The only problem is he didn't see how it could ever be useful and actually set back the development of the multistage turbine by over 2000 years.

Calling a moderator a cow is ill advised as i can vouch from personal experience this is not a cow to handle without

Well, it's funny you have to admit.

But i meant it to splice off-topic parts from other threads so the funny parts are kept alive without disturbing someone else's thread seeing as we aspies tend to go off on a tangent at every opportunity.

But this is fine too.

I fail to see how it isn't fair. One is an old copper kettle with two tubes the other a highly crafted precision machine with tolerances of micrometers over a surface of meters.

Ancient stuff is ancient. The romans had central heating sure, but since it was fired with wood and an open flu you'd die of co poisoning before you died of cold.

The pyramids are piles of stone, what's so hot about that?

There should be a law against musea. Especially against the godawful monstrosity they ploinked in my medieval village.

The first is required before the second. So you don't compare, you note that before multistage, there needed to be a far simpler prototype. The prototype is necessery for the more complex development.

You build better tools to make better art, I'd say. So there is an advance.

Well, they are big piles of stone. The thing is that they had to move all those stones and place them there. They didn't have all the machinery we have. So... lot's of effort.

That's nice but that still doesn't make it worth looking at or building buttugly musea to have people stare at it. Which was the original premise, what's the use of a museum.
