I am old and the last place you'll find me is a museum. Never understood the need to collect old junk, and even less to go around and stare at it.

Wrong thread?

Well, I was responding to sabrdawg's post, but I guess one post on that off thread topic was enough :P

Old junk is great, the craftsmanship way back when was clearly superior compared to todays garbage which is all practically made in China. For this reason I am a huge fan and avid collector, possibly to where I an in desperate need to do some discarding. Museums can be quite interesting and offer inspiration if one is open to the experience. Im always fascinated when I see old machinery built with a stylistic approach; those with scroll work, elaborate pillars that remain functional and attention to detail on every little nut and bolt... Its just awesome; a real shame most things are not built with the same passion as the distant past...

I looked in the mirror and noticed I'm going through some changes.

I was going to ask if this thread was invite-only, but I see that I've already been invited!

You will be pissed off at this comment, but the shape of your portal makes men think about other portals with the same purpose. Freud would have a field day

Well that sure explains why so many men had trouble finding the secret cow level! :P

I remember i was about 7 and was walking the road towards school (a wooden shack with 2 classrooms)
To get there you had to walk past vast pastures filled with cows. In one of them i saw a man standing on a bucket behind a cow. Took me years to recognize he just found the secret cow portal. :)

Petrossa: being an adolescent is a gift and a curse. The gift: I'm young and healthy. The curse: I've got a semi-peer-sickened mind that deciphered what you possibly meant by other portals!!

They just had nothing better to do, like surfing on the internet. I see craftsmanship in machinery, engines, things like that. If i compare the steam turbine made in the first century by Hero of Alexandria

to a multistage turbine

i am not that impressed with ancient craftsmanship. Arty things are a waste of time imo, have no function and don't add to the advancement of the human species.
