Oh, and involving them in the planning of the teaching process is great, too. There was nothing more I loved than feeling like I was part of a therapy session as being more than just a "client".

I loved it when the therapist would ask my opinion on what we should do. And, of course, if it was something completely outrageous, they'd have subtle ways of turning me around, too, hehe. But for the most part, making them feel like your a team working together on the project of "themselves" is great.

yeah i am trying to get the main child i am working with to be more involved in the process, and am going to try and do that more this week. Am going to ask him what kinds of things bother him that he would like us to take a look at. He has a better understanding of facial expressions and tone of voice than I expected based on reports by his parent (who said he couldn't recognise them) - but he did a fantastic job in session! Was very surprised by that. It's hard to know what to teach him/what he might not know. Sophist I'm wondering how your therapist involved you in the planning process of what goals you'd like to be achieving. What questions did they ask? What goals did you have that you wanted assistance with?
