I've started a few threads on here to help evaluate to what extent aspies are similar in ways other than the specific symptoms of AS.
I did a prior thread where it seemed there was a consensus that most aspie's responding had dry senses of humor and dry wit, though it seems harder for us to tell a scripted joke than to throw out a dry or sarcastic one-liner.
I was recalling over the weekend that probably the funniest thing I ever experienced was reading the books of Douglas Adams. When I read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I seriously had to put the put aside numerous times and just laugh and laugh. No other book has ever had that effect on me. I have probably re-read all of those books 50+ times. I wonder if perhaps his humor is particularly appropriate for Aspie's and, if so, then I imagine others on here are similarly impressed by his books.
