Do I Have Assburgers?

Postby AsinusMaximus » Mon Feb 05, 2007 7:12 am

I sometimes do or say socially inappropriate or obnoxious things, sometimes intentionally and sometimes accidentally. I've had periods of intense interest in obscure subjects all my life. As a kid, I was the prototypical geek. I don't get people and don't know how I'm supposed to read them or their body language. I have poor eye contact and coordination of my body language.

My personal history is detailed at So What's My Disorder?

Do I sound Assburgers?

Then what's the difference?

I've had doctors mention autism in the past, but they didn't diagnose it because Assburgers wasn't known about yet and regular autism was considered more severe.

Please do not misspell Asperger's Syndrome that badly.

1. It's rude.
2. The correct spelling is right at the top of the webpage.
3. It's really rude.

I'm pretty sure it's misspelled on purpose, for what reason I am un sure.

As for whether you have Aspergers, you don't sound like you have AS, maybe you have some traits, but alot of people are uncomfortable socially and find it hard to keep eye contact. Is there anything else that leads you to believe you have Aspergers Syndrome?

My opinion is also that it has been purposefully misspelt and I am not taking it with good humour. Perhaps that's just because I'm unbelievably stressed right now but still - Not funny. It's more like an attack.

:) Haha! Just read your post Spektyr - Good one.

AsinusMaximus, if you are getting-on well in life then don't pursue in trying to assign a mental illness to yourself. If, however, you re truly struggling in your life then you are doing the right thing in coming here.

BUT... ...I do not think you need to ask people here whether or not you have Asperger's. I mean, how the hell are we supposed to know based on what little we know about you? You know yourself better than any of us do. Look up the symptoms of Asperger's yourself and if it describes you then so-be-it. Then, you can come back here and join-in our discussions on the pangs, bangs, and yet utter bliss of being an Aspie.

:? ... ... :( ... ... :P ... ... :) ... ...
