HPD and Asperger's

Postby bobb2006 » Mon Dec 18, 2006 5:48 pm

I am married to a woman that is HPD and I suspect I have Asperger's. At least, my therapist is leaning towards that.

Would a person with Asperger's be attracted to HPD types?

Interesting,

That´s an idea I have been thinking about for some time. If in one family two out of three brothers lean towards asperger-behavior, and a third does not. And if the wifes of these two brothers lean towards Histrionic Personality Disorder, whereas the wife of the third brother does not. I think this supports your idea!

And your story supports my idea's likewise. Yes, the simplest idea is that HPD-people can be very _clear_ in their expression of intentions and ideas. And that this overt expression of emotions and intentions seems an ideal quality to the AS-person.

But maybe there are less obvious explanation for the phenomenon. And I wonder how often the AS-HPD combination occurs..
