favourite colour

Postby sagitta » Sun Oct 08, 2006 4:50 pm

Hi guys

Be interested 2 know what u'r favourite colour is. Mine's blue - co incidently I wear blue glasses to help settle vision. They also seem to calm me down. Was your favourite colour always the same or has it changed at all over the years.

Are there any colours u really dislike? Are there any colours u react to. I worked with a very red material in factory once. It seemed 2 make me a bit hyper and want 2 work hard. After work though I'd be grumpy 4 about half an hour. Couldn't work this out at first. Then we worked with a different colour for a couple of days and it stopped. then we worked with red and it came straight back. It cd hve been dye but then everyone wd have noticed and 2 me it felt more like reaction 2 actual colour.

I'm interested in whether some colour preferences may be more prevalant with certain conditions and why this might be. I'd be interested in any views anyone has on this.

yeah mine is green and light brown. I'm a visual person. so mostly things that calm or sooth me i like . so evidently the predominant colors i see in the world are my favorite colors. my favorite color has always been green then brown.. green for trees blowing i the wind is an example why i like the color green and brown

yellows reds. pinks. loud colors annoy me.

i also seem to enjoy blacks and grey as my memories(snapshots are actually black and white.

I have never had a favorite color, and don't understand how someone can have one either.

consciously you don't have a favorite color. unconscionably you have a preference. i myself don't have a favorite color, but prefer green to red

Why does someone have to favor one color over another? It apparently is possible for people to have several favorite colors, and it is also possible for people to have only one favorite color--why is it impossible for someone to no favorite colors?

For me, to prefer one thing over another, one of them would have to have some kind of legitimate gain.

I'm one of those people who separates the conscious thoughts from the unconscious. (psychoanalysis) i understand that you can say you like the color pink but unconsciously you may hate it. you just say you like it. as i don't really know you i cant tell you if you really don't prefer certain colors or not. but "scientifically" people prefer certain colors over others. red makes you hungry. yellow pink will annoy you. now in a social context people may say they like red pink or yellow , but do they really? i tend to have to translate these things. as myself i don't understand what a "favorite color" is. but i have read up on the psychological effects different colors have on the unconscious. and know "unconsciously" red makes you hungry. green blues are soothing. baring the possibility you didn't have any traumatic experience with any certain color.[/code]

You're absolutely right. I still don't have a favorite color. Don't confuse the two.

Does red really make you hungry? I have lots of red in my room but I rarely eat.
If it was true you would think alot of resturants would be coloured red to make you eat more.

I do think greeny blues are soothing.
