I have plenty of "friends", but I always seem to have to be the one to talk first. Who knows why it's like that. Does a passive personality inspire that from others? It seems like the people who know me least are more willing to talk to me first, while people I could say to trust most or know most well seriously never initiate conversation first. It's really irritating because it feels like Im always a friend of convenience. at 27, it hasn't imrpoved.

Vandslaux987,
I have strong beliefs that my 19yr was diagnosed with ADHD 11 years ago when in fact he has Aspergers.... which is the reason I ended up in this forum.
Anyway, When he went into High School, he signed up for their ROTC program. He never had any intention of going into the military, partly because he also has asthma. This is his 4th year with the ROTC program. While he does not have any "friends" where he goes over to their houses and never seems to have movie night with other kids..... he is active in ROTC. He goes to the ROTC Ball and even goes on the ROTC End of Year Trip and seems to really enjoy it.
Just something to consider.
