Hi there,

this is not my forum to moderate....but saw your post.......

the moderators are just your average "run of the mill" poster, if you will! We all came here to post....just like any one else who has dropped by. We are not professionals. We are not doctors or involved in the health care industry, etc. etc. Or so not any of the mods that I'm aware of. I'm not sure of our site administrator's credentials to be honest. Anyway. We pretty much all deal w/ our own personal struggles. For example....myself....I've dealt w/ suicide in my past....SI in my past...I'm currently once again struggling w/ bulimia....have struggled w/ that in my past as well....I was sexually molested as a young child and then again as a teen by that same person......I am diagnosed as dealing w/ cyclothymia and OCPD....however I do feel I currently have that under control....and I've been misdiagnosed in my past so many times who knows what I'm truly dealing w/!!!......well you get the idea! All of our mods have been through something in their own right....some are doing really well....others are currently struggling very hard.....all of us volunteer to help "mod" the forums. Basically what we are doing is helping the site administrator watch the forums for inappropriate type things on the sites. Like spamming of the forums.....watching out for people who mean only to log on and post in a harmful manner, etc. If people reach out for help....say someone logs on and threatens suicide.....if we can....our site administrator tries to log and report that....or if we feel there is someone on the site and is speaking of how they are harming another person....our site administrator will log and report that as well. But we don't act as doctors or experts in any fields. But seeing that any certain individual is a "moderator" in that forum....it doesn't mean that they necessarily have any expertise in that field. Probably more so it means they have personal experience in that area and asked if they could help watch over and take part in that forum. There are many forums that don't have a particular person assigned to it and in those cases we all just try to watch those forums as best we can for things such as spam, etc. as I mentioned before. It's a very large site. Easy to sometimes miss things. If posters get into a dispute between one another they feel they cannot handle or resolve between themselves....they can PM one of the moderators and ask for help. We are there for that sort of thing as well. I know it's frustrating for me when I want to join in on a conversation and people take what I have to say differently because I have "moderator" after my screen name then they'd take it if I didn't have that after my name! I can't stress enough that "moderator"....at least for this site...is not meant to imply that we are doctors or experts in the field of psychiatry, etc. etc. We more so just try to help watch the forums and help them run a bit more smooth. Sort of help our site administrators keep them up and running smooth and effectively for the users on the site well at the same time coming here to seek and offer support just as any one else here does.

Hope that helps!

I don't have Asperger's no.
As Angel I don't persay moderate this forum ,but I do from time to time because there are really no moderators for this particular part of the site...

I do however suffer with generalized anxiety disorder, seasonal affective disorder, clinical depression and remnants of post-traumatic stress disorder.

We don't get paid for moderating here now, it's all volunteer.
