i watched the video but forgot to bring headphones with me to the library - oops! i'll have to do this again with the headphones.

as an aside, anagram, have you seen ang lee's 'house of flying daggers'. a bit opposite to this in terms of the use of primary colours. but the effects are quite breath-taking. well, at least i think so. the end is also very creative, if one actually gets it. it took me quite some time to figure it out.

I think you replied in the wrong thread. What video are you referring to?

... this one ...

Thanks! It's from [this video] (one of my favorites). I love the imagery.

I haven't seen it. The stills do look stunning. The plot doesn't appeal to me, though. Everybody looks so serious...

the real plot is very much about what people do for and because of love. i don't want to give too much away here. but i'll just say it's more than merely spectacular. it has a very meaningful message about sacrifice. i must admit i don't much care for films that don't say anything.

wow ... that was a bit dark!

Destroy everything you touch today
Destroy me this way
Anything that may desert you
So it cannot hurt you

reminds me of a song i wrote a long time ago.

[This one] is darker (unfortunately it has no video). For some reason it makes me feel good/better no matter what mood I'm in.

i must admit, i think the lyrics of 'destroy everything you touch' are darker. granted the music is more melodic. but in a way that makes the contrast greater. perhaps what chills me about these lyrics is they bear more than a passing resemblance to the mindset of those that shoot up schools, shopping malls and movie theatres. i'm not saying it isn't a likable song. but it's certainly in the genre of peter gabriel's 'family snapshot'.

I pretty much gave up finding my own kind until I found the people in this forum...
It was a very good feeling to find a place I could call Home...

Why do guys so often have Avatars of women?
My avatar, on the other hand, is very representative of the real me... ;)

I ... hate this. Not your comment, just that this is really true...it relates to me a lot.

I quit a job I was at for 4 years about 2 years ago, and very few from that position ever try to keep in contact with me.

I was on a BBC board (pre internet proper) for around 5 years...
I didn't establish a friendship with any of them.
Apart from gains in some social/nt insights, a total waste of time in the relationship department...

The implied qualifier is probably "tendency" if not otherwise stated...
I don't generalise in the classic sense...
My default MO is to think in terms of probabilities/improbabilities...

Nah I think you're taking it too literally. The way I understand it, it's about destroying egos, not buildings or lives. The band has this apathetic, misanthropic quality to them, but they're overall not aggressive.

I don't know about others, but me, I identify with [who I'm attracted to], more than I identify with my image in the mirror.
