Lists

Postby Fallen_Angel73 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 6:21 am

For no reason other than I like to make lists and I feel like posting it here. Please feel free to post your own lists. Or maybe discuss the subject of making lists if you feel like it :)

In any case, I'll probably be appending more lists of my own here in the future.

best florence and the machine track, IMO, ...

COSMIC LOVE

A falling star fell from your heart
And landed in my eyes
I screamed aloud, as it tore through them
And now it's left me blind

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat
I tried to find the sound
But then it stopped and I was in the darkness
So darkness I became

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

I took the stars from my eyes and then I made a map
And knew that somehow I could find my way back
Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart

... 'lungs' is one of those increasingly rare things called a genuinely great album.
something knocked me out' the trees
now i'm on my knees
... don't you know you're gonna shock the monkey

there is one thing you must be sure of
i can't take any more
... don't you know you're gonna shock the monkey

don't like it but i guess i'm learning

... shock the monkey to life

COSMIC LOVE

My favorite one from Lungs, too (closely followed by "My boy builds coffins".
But my favorite one by Florence is "Remain nameless".

Lyrics:

I was born in a big gray cloud
Screaming out a love song
All the broken chords and unnamed cries
What a place to come from

I wish to remain nameless
And live without shame
'Cause what's in a name, Oh
I still remain the same

You can call it what you want
You can call me anything you want
You can call us what you want
You can call me anything you want

Everybody lets you down
In this grief hole of a town
What a difference of the rushing out
Tell me what you're running from

I know everybody lets you down
I'll do the same
But know I'll always be around
This can remain the same

Call me when you need me
Call me anything you want
Darling, believe me
Nothing I haven't done before

My biggest passion to do is read. I have a notebook in which I list ask the books I've read. I list what day I stayed the book, finished it, title and author, a five star rating, and how many pages. I started it when I was 13, lost it, found it again when I was 14 and have kept up since then. Almost 8 years now. With roughly one book per line. I have filled five pages front and back. I love my book notebook.

That's very cool!

Can you list your favorite ones here using your system?
No pressure though. Only if you feel like it :D

(Would be nice to make a list of other people's lists )

I personally use a service called GoodReads to do something like that.

I haven't been keeping up on it lately, though....*sigh*

Goodreads has a nice feature where you can find similar interesting books based off what you added. There's also some challenges, such as read X books in a year kinda thing. I really like this site. Tracking the books one reads is a lot of fun, especially since I've had some books I'd start, read about 1/3rd the way through, forget it, then come back later. Good reads kinda says "hey, idiot, you're still reading this book"..except nicer than that. I should update it this weekend..add the more recent books I've been reading, etc.
