hyperhydrosis or sweaty hands is my anxiety symptom. #1

Postby principedeagrigento » Thu Nov 03, 2011 7:38 pm

Good afternoon, oi would like to tell a little bit about my history(story) against anxiety. or what the dsm iV calls anxiety disorders. im very anxious since im a little boy, since childhood i mean. i have thge problem of sweating a lot, so my body temperature tends to rise up a lot, sometimes suddenly. some social situations arte more challenging than others.

my hyperhydrosis is very aggressive i csan sweat a lot, so that gives me a lot of worries of what others would think of me. that sometimes have caused me problems with body odor, because of teh excessive sweat.

does someone has a similar experience to share?
some thoughts or ideas to share?
does someone have read or see something aobut it?

i dont deal with anxiety as the way i must do it... i tend so smoke weed or hash to relax... and avoid the root ofanxiety... thank you for the support.

Hello.

I don't personally experience the problem of sweating a lot due to anxiety. But I know you are not alone in suffering from this condition, there are others too. I met one guy in the waiting room of my therapists office that had a similar problem to yours, though I did not have much time to speak to him about it.

I think it's maybe not a good idea for you to cope with your anxiety by using drugs. There are other healthy things you could do for yourself that might help. Have you tried asking the doctor about whether anti-anxiety medication would be suitable for you? Have you thought about perhaps going to see a therapist to see if you can work out what the underlying cause of your anxiety may be?
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.
