See, you THINK that's what Anxiety NOS is....but I've recently discovered exactly what it is....you ready for it?.....here it is... the Army refuses to acknowledge PTSD as existing or being caused by active army war time overseas. So, instead, when soldiers submit for their evaluation board, instead of listing them with PTSD, an army no-no, they list them as having Anxiety Disorder NOS (DSM Code 300.00) and send them on their way. Sad, frustrating, infuriating, but unpleasantly true.

Hmm idk not sure but I might have put my last post under the wrong forum (OCD) when I should have put it here...
I always wonder why
When you look down into my eyes
My feeling swiftly changed between happiness and sorrow
And tears begin to fall
I’m not you and you are not me
But your pain becomes my pain
When you are sad, I’m the one who foolish cry
When you are wounded, my heart is hurt

Every one of us has a chance to develop anxiety. But it’s a matter on how we manage those feelings. I too experienced how it was like to have an anxiety attacks. I can’t express my gratitude for the amazing help I have received through Paul (YM practitioner) and the resulting transformation I have been going when he did corrections of my life issues. My life has changed forever and I am finally turning into the person that I always wanted to be, and I never thought I could be before. . Now that they are all corrected and eliminated, I'm so much more relaxed and happier with what I am now.

Anxiety NOS is rather a vague diagnosis. Don't doctors just use it when patients do not fit neatly into one of the seven anxiety disorders. I note in your excellent and extremely detailed Information thread that you state there are six types of anxiety:

SIX TYPES OF ANXIETY by Butterfly faerie

There's anxiety and then there's anxiety: In fact, psychiatrists recognize six different types: Social anxiety, phobias, post traumatic stress syndrome or PTSS, generalized anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and obsessive compulsive disorders or OCD.

I understood that there are seven types of anxiety disorder:

Generalised Anxiety Disorder
Panic Disorder
Social Phobia
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Specific Phobias
Agoraphobia

I am not sure if I am allowed links to personal websites. This one does have a minor commercial aspect, but is primarily for informational purposes.

When I was working as a doctor Anxiety NOS was used on the computer as a diagnosis if patients did not fit easily into one of the seven types of anxiety disorder. This seemed a bit lazy to me, as I suspect 99% of patients fit into a more precise diagnosis, if assessed thoroughly. Please correct me if you think I am wrong.
Many thanks Ken

what upsets me about this (anxiety disorder and its subsets) is that no one takes it seriously. yet it is debilitating. even doctors just toss it off like it's nothing, yet I've been told GAD, social anxiety, PTSD, and "adjustment anxiety disorder" (not sure what that is?).

They always want to prescribe various types of antidepressants, which mostly just make me groggy (mind fog). I have enough trouble with a cloudy mind, don't need more of it. (That's the chronic lo-key depression ....)

Back to my point ..... I wish people took it seriously. but like ADHD and OCD, it's something that people toss around like paper. but living with it can be a nightmare.
