Hey, nice name (and good song too),

Do you mean does smoking make Anxiety worse? I am pretty sure that it would because smoking raises blood-pressure. Considering that when you are anxious your blood-pressure is already high, smoking will only make it worse.

Each time you smoke, you also paralyse epithelium cells in your throat and lungs. These then have to be regenerated each and every time. Oh, and smoking deposits tar in your lungs too.

It is obvious that smoking is bad, for more than just your anxiety. What isnt as obvious is that when someone who has anxiety is a smoker they are using those cigarettes to help relieve their anxiety. Well, now that I wrote that I guess it is rather obvious...

I had anxiety issues in college and I smoked. At the time a cigarette was a way in which I could get a relief. It seemed though that the whole anticipation to the cigarette was what I was looking for and once I took a drag it was all gone and maybe I felt better for a little while.

It wasnt until I realized that smoking was just perpetuating the problem that I solved it. I started running and working out and getting in great shape. I had quit the baseball team in college because of my problems but now 2 years out of college I am a personal trainer and am training for the '08 marathon.

To anyone who has anxiety, HEALTH living is the best thing you can do for yourself. Its like fueling your broken down car with hot sauce or gasoline. If your car has a bit of an engine problem and you want to get it up and running well again give it premium gasoline and not maple syrup :)
