don't enjoy social mingling if I cant relate to people

Postby jaki70 » Sun Jun 11, 2006 2:45 am

Not sure if this is the right place to discuss this problem of mine.
I had couple of anxiety attacks(feeling that mind is closing, cant think or remember stuff)My phychytrist put me on med. thrice a week for three months. I also dont feel like communicating with others and get frustrated quickly if people are not working properly or kids are not listening. I feel I should be able to relate with people whom I call friend and not just social mingling.
Please advice if this depression or anxiety or something else

thanx

lots of info about panic attacks on the net, although unpleasant, they a rent serious, just breathe deep and slow, relax, dont tense up or fight back and wait a while before getting on with your day

sounds like social anxiety disorder, details on the net

It sounds like you just have a different personality from most people around you, so it is hard for you to connect with them on a deep level! I can understand that.

What really helped me is reading David Keirsey's Please Understand Me II, and learning more about the different temperaments he described. Also, Google "MBTI" or "Myers-Briggs Type Indicator."

You might or might not have an anxiety disorder, but it seems to me like you are most frustrated with not having the kinds of relationships you want.
