The US shoe size average for men is 10.5, so why the exclamation marks? Because your little boy is growing up so fast? :P

My boy's only 13. His feet will grow for at least 6-8 more years. I hope those canoe paddles don't get so big we have to get everything custom made

I still get confused about sizes when I buy clothing. I just put on my :D :D :D size 8 pants that haven't fit for a good while. I think those are American. Most of what I buy is size 12, tho. So more of our stores carry clothing in European sizes? Idk. I've always been pear shaped (except when I'm really skinny) so I don't pay attention to numbers when I shop bc I have to try everything on before I buy it.

Except for shoes. I try them on anyway, to see if they're comfy, but I've been an 8 to 8 1/2 (men's size 6) since I was 14. I don't know where that kid gets his monster feet from. Not me

Nah, the feet finish growing first and fast. And that's like the age when my feet reached their full size, but perhaps he just started growing them. :P

(haven't researched it or anything, but that's how it was for me and my friends.)

I think I went from size 6 to size 11 over a summer. The height hit later, I was a genuine hobbit for a while. :P

I don't think the so-called obesity epidemic is as bad as they say. We're also getting taller, so of course our bodies will be proportionally larger. Those women who wore those size 4 shoes were also a good 4-6" shorter if I remember correctly.

My boy is the exact opposite of obese, btw. He's 5'10" and around 120 lbs. (I haven't weighed him recently, but he's skinny as a rake.)

Levi's has good stats on height/size changes over the last 170 years. Let's see what I can find.

That's how it is for girls. I remember a few boys who kept outgrowing their shoes through high school, tho. Maybe they were just freaks

I loved that age--grade 6, 7, 8, when we were taller than the boys and could beat them all at arm wrestling and so on. I couldn't outrun or outskate any of them, so I loved rassling
