I think it is simple really.

Not all birds want to break free, but when they realize they are in a cage humans get the curiousity as it being in them.

Some poeple never iether realize to "break out" or if they do realize what society is, they are too lazy to try anything or don't feel like it.

So I'd see killers more as a philosophical way of choosing ones life route as to say one following the law or being say a cop.

Simply put, it's a choice, regardless of events.

Two is not a serial killer. 3 and 8 are both serial killers.

Majority rules is good.
Deputization is good.
Double jeopardy is good.
5th amendment is good.
2nd amendment is good.

I have a feeling that most serial killers had a fuked up relationship with a caregiver, seems like usually the mother, which if you think about it a babies need for their mother is stronger than it is for the father usually, so that can cause all sorts of mental issues

I asked this on another forum, and someone said that they may have chosen to densensitize themselves at a young age to violence. That still leaves the question of why.

Another explanation could just be genetics, but lacking a predisposition and bad environment, what other factors could influence the development of a potential serial killer?

I've considered hormonal imbalances in the womb, and head injuries during critical development stages too.

What other "x" factors might there be?

Overpopulation.
