Everybody's just a set of characteristics, including me.

I chose the name Platypus because they tend to be solitary creatures that hide - a bit like me. But they are also quite strange in the animal world, being a mammal that lays eggs. I think the explorers who took the first platypus back home to England for exhibition were accused of inventing the animal by attaching various pieces of other animals (e.g. a duck's bill and a beaver's tail.) And sometimes I feel a bit mixed-up and confused...like I have all these mismatched pieces.

I am not a spiritual person, but I relate to a lot of what is written here about people with the platypus as their totem: http://www.wildspeak.com/totems/platypus.html
No diagnosis, lots of opinions, and a bunch of issues that I haven't quite figured out.

I always wanted to use marycarterpaint as a front company. I figured I could get a big laugh out of any CIA types investigating me.

I love to make people laugh! :D

He [Howard Hughes] made a deal with the CIA, which owned Mary Carter Paints, an improbably named "front" company, to let him buy the operating rights to Mary Carter Paints's Paradise Island Casino, Hotel and Ocean Club. The founders, in 1958, of Mary Carter Paints were Thomas Dewey and Allen Dulles, at a time when Dulles was head of the CIA and shortly before Dulles obtained Maheu's assistance in attempting to kill Fidel Castro, with Hughes's tacit approval... In 1963, the CIA linked up with mob connections through Mary Carter to support fascist governments in South America. By 1964, Robert Kennedy... was aggressively exploring the Hughes-Moe Dalitz-Sam Giancana-CIA-Mary Carter Paints-Nassau connections.

platypus and echidna are missing links between lizard and mammal (egg laying mammal = monotreme). you can look at the platypus genome (if you know what to look for) in order to determine some of what happened between lizard/bird/turtle/snake/dinosaur and mammals.

it is very useful for answering these questions because there is otherwise a big gap in information (origin of lizard 250mya, monotreme 150mya, mammal 100mya). mya = million years ago

yeah, i like the platypus, and the name is funny too! :D

Funny you mention echidna - there was a member here a while back called Echidna, a sweet young lad from London.

My first time venturing out of the bpd forum...

My name comes from a song by Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, formerly The Refreshments.

Their claim to fame is " The King of the Hill" theme and the song " Banditos "

No.

Not to sound hostile, but I'd appreciate it if anyone who wants to talk to me about videogames doesn't do it on this forum unless it's relevant to the discussion. Just PM me or take it to one of the videogame threads in Just For Fun.
