That's a great point. I think a lot of people have adopted and embraced Cluster-B diagnoses (which may or may not be accurate) so they don't have to take responsibility for their own actions.

Why single-out Cluster Bs, or even PDs? It's not my fault; it's all just effects of my hormones, genes and star sign.

Having spent some time in various Psych wards, I have seen all sorts of people who wanted a Dx. Sometimes it is fear of not knowing what is happening, sometimes it is so they can gain more patience and pity from family, sometimes it is so they can focus on a specific therapy and sometimes it is so they can get meds regularly to get high off of or sell.
It takes all sorts.

Because that was the subject of discussion. You are right, though. People always use their circumstances to excuse behavior, whether or not circumstance has anything to do with it. I will say, however, that the Cluster B personality disorders are, by their very nature, more likely to do that. They don't really experience all the little qualms that keep people from crossing lines out of decency.

That's pretty much what I said. They want to make their problems tangible.

Yeah, when their problems are tangible and can be named it gives them answers in a way, they may not understand why they are dysfunctional otherwise.

There seems to be a lot of people here who seem to want to be labelled a sociopath, etc, What's the rationale behind that?
I'm diagnosed with NPD and ideally i want that dx reversed..

Really? How many have you seen who say they want that diagnosis?

Interesting choice of forum.
I'm not arguing; I'm explaining why I'm right.

Oh dear, another NPD who seems to have got themselves lost on the way to the NPD forum. You narcissists really aren't a very bright lot, are you.
I'm going to show you how good it feels to be bad

I haven't seen anyone say something along those lines recently. More like either people are already diagnosed or don't give a sh*t.
