It sounds like you shouldn't have been charged at all. That was the only "evidence" they had against you?

They had motive, and someone claimed they saw a car that looked similar to mine leaving the house the same night.

Lol. Yeah. Didn't really help the prosecution that she couldn't identify the make and model of modern day cars to save her own life.

Well, she identified my car and recited the make and model with the confidence of a 3rd generation mechanic. But when she was asked to identify 10 other popular cars, she confused a lot of them, including mine with another.
