Nah, i'm a big cuddly bear. I <3 kitties.
Statistically speaking, an average person tells approx. 3 lies every 10 minitues of communication. Can you blame me for not trusting anyone?

I didn't think so. I figured you were more schizoid if anything.

Kitties are amazing. :3

I am very interested to know what score you two would get.

It is called MACH-IV (Test of Machiavellianism).

My score was 100 try to beat it.

Generally, I score between 21 and 24 on these tests -- the variance depending on how I choose to interpret some of the questions as they deal with criminality.

While I was a teen, for instance, I did things that were illegal (doesn't everyone?) but in only one instance did I ever almost get caught by the police. As for school, I wanted to be able to skip classes as I pleased, but to avoid problems I got myself into student government to make sure I always was able to violate attendance rules and get away with it. As for laws today, I always look at them in a cost-benefit sort of way -- never in a moral sence as laws are a product of politics, not anything God has anything to do with. So I generally give myself 0 or 1 scores on all the crime-related questions. As for promiscuity, I never slept around since it just seemed so cheap a thing to do -- and the idea of getting someone I had no intention of being with pregnant, or catching an STD, never appealed to me -- so again, 0. Yet in the first half the test I score 2s. So what that means, I have no idea. As for the Machiavellianism test, I scored a 78.

I resent the fact that it states that a pussycat can't be a cutthroat.

A Machiavellian test only goes to 100. I'm sure you already knew that. I got 91.

kanin wrote:That's no necessarily true, Sunlight. While the effects of a severe PD might interfere with the process of becoming a psychologist, just having the PD isn't grounds for disqualification. If a person with ASPD went through all the steps, courses, and research, they're probably smart enough to appear normal enough to pass assessments. If they were self-diagnosed and not "on the record" so to speak, it wouldn't be an issue at all, assuming they can keep up.

Wouldn't the most successful psychologist be one with psychopathic tendencies? Come on, does anyone expect their psychologist to really care about your problems any more than we really expect our children's daycare workers to really love your kids? They gain money and, perhaps, psychological stimulation listening to you and being able to employ intellectual explainations and solutions to patients who have them. If people with psychopathic tendencies are such good manipulators, then they can convince a patient that if you apply a particular strategy to a problem then you will get a positive result. And as for tests, if you are smart enough to figure out what someone is looking for, then you can doctor your responses accordingly.

Yes, they do.

People can be manipulative without "psychopathic tendencies" especially when they believe it's for "the benefit of the patient".

I suppose you are right that people expect it -- just like they expect their favorite 7th. grade teacher to remember their name if they run into them at the mall 15 years later. I only said that being a psychopath might actually assist a psychologist -- after all, to many, helping others might not give them that warm and fuzzy feeling, but it might give them satisfaction for being recognized as an outstanding psychologist. Helping others might be a side-benefit of being analytical and solving people's problems.

I just added subliminal encouragement... for motivation.

Good job, I would have given you cat nip for that score.
