what pets do you got and why do you keep them?

Anyway, on topic. Ferrets and greyhounds were always popular animals to keep where I grew up...oh and pigeons too.

They're not really pets though.

I like dogs (loyal to a fault), cats(great natural predators), I’ve also had aquariums which are interesting too, fish have personalities too. I like African Cichlids, catfish, plecco, I’ve had a few piranha, they get boring because you can only keep them with other piranha or the same species and size. It was fun to see what the would eat though, fed them a frog that was fuked.

I also like snakes, had a ball python, friend had a boa constrictor those are cool too. Had turtles those didn’t really do anything for me, a hampster that my cat killed, bunny rabbits well those my brother brought home, they got out and ran away

Kings are/were a favourite of mine too; they're thought to be the most intelligent of all snakes.
They seem to be quite mischievous or unpredictable though, so not a good idea for me.

I didn't realize that they're prefered diet is other snakes, and I didn't particularly appreciate that some people feed them the same species of snake I have for their diets. But I think that's more of an 'edge-lord' thing because they're voracious feeders and quite happy with rattos.

You mentioned having pets - a dog and a cat I assume (the cat that pissed on your shoe), yet you didn't answer the question. Why do you keep them?

Me, I have a bird, a parrot. Well, technically, I have two since I now have my daughter's parrot as well because she wasn't spending enough time with her. I keep them indoors in a big cage, but I take them out every day, two or three times a day and spend time with them. They really seem to like spending time with me because they're always either sitting on my shoulders (each bird has a should each) or if they do have a fly around, they always come back to me.

They're very curious, playful and affectionate birds. I can usually tell what they're feeling. They each have their own unique personality, which is interesting to me because I didn't realize birds had emotion, let alone an individual personality.

I've always liked birds, but in the wild they all just seemed to be clones of each other, or at least I assumed they were. Having owned them, I have a far greater respect for them now.

We had lots of animals growing up, almost every kind you can think of, but I never really paid much attention to them until I got my own pets and had the responsibility of taking care of them. I'm not a very patient person, so many of the animals I had ended up being abused/killed. My birds annoy me at times too, but I've always liked birds more than other animals and these ones I have now are good company. I could never harm them.

I don't mind birds.

Found a hawk once when I was about 15 or 16. It had been injured. I took it home and phoned the rspca. They came and took it away.

They said: well done Manners73, you did a good thing.

I was on home leave at the time from a secure children's home so it was a Christmas day to remember.

We had a cat that used to get really high when we smoked around it.

People used to come from far and wide to see this fcking black cat literally flying around my living room.

I think my neighbour fed it to their dog in the end...or maybe it just evaporated.
