This song is all about seizing the moment, knowing you're good when others don't believe in you, overcoming obstacles and adversity, etc.. I can see how all of that would be appealing to a psychopath.

Never really been into rap at all.

Grew up listening to Pink Floyd and The Doors. It was more a case of that's what everyone in the place I lived was listening to than personal choice but as I got older I had acquired a taste for it.

Then I'd heard enough of it and didn't listen to music at all for a considerable time.

I suppose my favourite band of the last 20 years or so is The Verve. It reminds of of good times of getting high during the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
