This is what I was going to answer - his music is background and supportive of the performance of his art - the art of killing. An esthetic experience, just as you say. He is an artist at work. There is beauty in what he does.

You pretty much repeated what I just said.

I see that now - didn't see your post when I posted.
Well, if we said the same thing, we must be correct. No need for anyone to discuss further.

And you me, Reaper :)

We're all singing off of the same hymn sheet and to the same tune. Keep this up and we'll be the serenade in his next dance

If I saw your post, I don't recall. Anyway, it seems we all agree at least.

Another song where you can not understand anything. This is classified as death metal/deathcore. Will never get why this music appeals. Wonder if people commit the lyrics to memory or read them once and think, "So long as I know what it is about, that is good enough." Strange either way.

Apocalypse Now, Clockwork Orange, the end of There Will Be Blood, Killing Eve all use classical, beautiful or other 'non bloodthirsty' music during murder scenes to create some kind of dissociation for the viewer in my opinion. (Or perhaps it is for other reasons and there is a phrase for what I am trying to explain but cannot quite hit on it)
Either way it is a very effective ploy, and often (for me ) it serves to add a touch of humour.
Imagine silence during a scene where someone's throat is being cut. Sweaty, grunting laboured breathing during the struggle and the sound of sinew and tendon being severed like that of a blade ripping through carpet. Yuck! wouldn't have many viewers.
Bloodthirsty music wouldn't work either. Would make the scene very forgettable and over the top.

I often try to imagine various scenes that have an impact on me, and are accompanied by great music, happening without the music.

According to this Guardian article:

https://www.theguardian.com/science/201 ... tudy-shows

And NME:
https://www.nme.com/news/music/psychopa ... er-2159358

"No Diggity" by Blackstreet, "Lose Yourself" by Eminem and "What Do You Mean" by Justin Bieber are apparently favoured by those scoring high on psychopathy whereas "My Sharona" by The Knack and "Titanium" by Sia are favoured by the least psychopathic individuals.

This is based on a study led by Pascal Wallisch, a Psychology professor at New York University.

How reliable this study is, I don't know but I believe you would have to be a pretty reprehensible person to enjoy the works of Justin Bieber, lol!
I have - High functioning autism, OCD (episodic), social anxiety and depersonalization/derealization disorder

Expect I may have - Avoidant/schizoid personality disorder or traits

Lose Yourself by Eminem is a really good song. I've never heard the others.
