Getting Arrested / Victim of Crime - Your Experiences

Postby Reaper » Fri Oct 04, 2019 4:39 pm

I like watching a channel on YouTube called 'AfterPrisonShow'. I watched this video today and it gave me the idea for this thread:

What Happens When You Get Arrested?

I really enjoy Joe's videos. He's very expressive and quite funny at times.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to share your own experiences of being arrested by the police and going to jail/prison. What was it like for you?

If you know a family member, friend, or intimate partner who has been reported, arrested and possibly convicted, you could share your experience of that situation instead. What was it like for you to find out they'd been arrested/charged? How did they handle it? Did their arrest, and any potential jail/prison time that may have followed, change your life in any significant way?

Of course, not everyone here has been arrested or knows someone who has, so these experiences may not apply to you.

If you've only ever been reported to the police and not arrested, you could share a story about that experience instead. Who reported you to the police and why? How did you handle that situation, and what was the outcome?

I would also like to include experiences from those who have been victims of crime. What was the crime? What happened to you, and what happened to the person who committed the crime against you? If they were charged and convicted, how do you feel about the sentence they received? Did it give you closure?

Right. Don't want to get into particular detail but it's very adrenalin rushed and your brain rushes into overdrive about how to handle the situation and what your game plan is.

My most current friend who was arrested was arrested for dealing due to the amount of coke he allegedly had on him. He is out on bail and is currently hoping for a suspended sentence. It was a set up which was just fantastic.

The most disturbing story was when my brother and his friends were arrested for possession when he was a teen and kept in an over night cell. His friend was moved to a different cell to them and was raped. The charges were dropped the next day and his friend killed himself a week later.

Being questioned is difficult. You need to come up with a game plan and a story and stick with it even if you are innocent of the particular event they are questioning you about.

Latest event that happened to me was getting strangled in an Uber. Cops have done nothing. I just needed the case number to get off work anyway.

Had someone close who was the victim of an attempted hijacking. Also police did nothing except cross question why he got out of the car in the first place in a dodgy neighbourhood and stress the importance of how lying in a police report could send him to jail.

So you know what, it's every man for himself. We are all the victims and guilty parties at the same time.

That is disturbing :(

I've been arrested twice and had police call to my home once.
Never appeared in court and never did time.
They were all unfortunate events ( I didn't harm anyone, just took risks...stealing when young; dui; threatening + physical damage to neighbour's property)

The first time I felt a lot of fear. I was young, and stealing is not my thing. Can't remember why I did it.
The second time I was so enraged and out of it, I felt no fear. Was referred to mental health.
Currently I am taking a risk with driving. I have an escape plan for if I am caught. It is a bureaucratic dilemma which I am trying to rectify but it is going to take time.

Victim? No.

I've had multiple friends arrested and/or sent to jail temporarily (mostly minor drug stuff, one stabbing, one...something else) but only one who is currently serving a significant prison sentence.

When I found out, I thought he was an idiot, but I'd always thought that anyway. He was a total shltshow before he went, but I think that was more about what he'd done (involuntary manslaughter) than the sentence. I went to visit him once because I was curious about the experience. I haven't gone back or responded to letters, even though his mother keeps harassing me about it. Other than that, it hasn't really impacted me at all. Except that I took all of his sweatshirts, and they're really comfy.

Haven't gotten arrested myself, but that's only because I was good at hiding.

I have my own experience I have talked about before, also my sons mothers family are just about all addicts and career criminals. One sister got busted for armed robbery and sentenced to 10 years but I don’t think she did more than 2 in prison, basically because she was having heroin withdrawals.

Her brother is in federal prison for arson and murder, got evicted from an apartment and decided to set fire to the house, supposedly thought it was empty but an old man was home and died, he’s never getting out I think he was 18-19 when this happened, threw his entire life away.

I consider them all low life scumbags, actually the brother I liked I remember teaching him how to play football he was a lot younger than me and had no male figure in his life at all so never learned basic shlt, he was the classic “black sheep” of the family so he had it tough his whole life. The rest of them all trash going to prison only confirmed my opinion I already had.

The ex, who was way after me beat her under 1 year old black and blue and she lost the kid to the father, this guy later pulled a gun and the mother who told the police, he did 10 years in federal prison for that, would never touch my son because for 1 he could talk and 2 I would have killed him and he knew it, because she told him I would so he hit the 1 year old who couldn’t talk or defend himself, real strong and tough right? He’s ASPD spent his entire life in prison or on parole.

It’s usually stupid shlt, often times motivated by drugs, so when I see ASPD getting kind of idealized I wonder who would be proud of being this degenerate? There is NOTHING to be proud of, they are not strong and usually only target the weakest or most vulnerable, I’ve had a lot of contact with the type and I don’t admire them in any way. Some gain some insight as they age and try to live a better life, for a lot it’s usually too late and they have already ruined their lives dealing with the pain that is within them from childhood that’s always there, it’s sad actually.

Just to add I like joe, he tells it straight, those plastic seats... I got nerve damage in my thumb from that Fukien seat, being a big dude sitting in a completely rounded out seat with your hands behind your back sitting on the handcuffs while you are gently driven from one location to the next.

Lol, wanting to have ASPD is the equivalent of wanting to be a vampire these days.
Anyone in your close family too? What did it feel like growing up with them?

I didn't watch the whole video. A sex offender I met last year in prison explained to me that part of the adrenaline was the fear of him being caught… "It's part of the problem."

Addiction is common in those with aspd. Cousins of mine on my fathers side demonstrated strong traits of antisocial behaviour, starting in childhood, before their addiction caused their deaths. Of the remaining two, ( out of five) the girl is the more psychopathic of the two. I am quite close to the remaining male cousin. Somehow he has survived and avoided prison. Like Jomp, he holds down a job, has a GF and is reasonably functioning in spite of having strong alcoholic tendencies. Their parents were well to do ( Doctor + engineer), had the best of everything while we , their poor cousins grew up with relatively little.

It is sad when there is obviously childhood neglect, abuse, and perverted parents as a root cause. However some have had no childhood trauma and have decent parents.
Regarding ageing, I wonder if their existential crisis is the same as the rest of us, or if they are indeed happier than the rest of the population due to a 'mellowing out' of symptoms, while nons are running around helter skelter, desperate to find meaning and purpose to life.

They were just people I associated with it didn’t really feel like anything in particular, all could be very friendly at time and fun to be around, then they would do something retarded out of the blue

This is how I used to feel when I started stealing stuff as a kid, there was a fear of being caught but the rush was when you realized you got away with it. It’s similar to jumping out of a plane actually just less intense maybe but still pretty close.

Abuse breeds abuse in many cases.
However some have had no childhood trauma and have decent parents.

Some are entitled cvnts where mummy and daddy cleaned up their messes behind their asses.

I think it is more narcs staring at their navels agonizing over meaning and purpose and sharing the 'pain' of their existential crisis with anyone that doesn't roll their eyes.
