I like watching a channel on YouTube called 'AfterPrisonShow'. I watched this video today and it gave me the idea for this thread:
What Happens When You Get Arrested?
I really enjoy Joe's videos. He's very expressive and quite funny at times.
Anyway, the point of this thread is to share your own experiences of being arrested by the police and going to jail/prison. What was it like for you?
If you know a family member, friend, or intimate partner who has been reported, arrested and possibly convicted, you could share your experience of that situation instead. What was it like for you to find out they'd been arrested/charged? How did they handle it? Did their arrest, and any potential jail/prison time that may have followed, change your life in any significant way?
Of course, not everyone here has been arrested or knows someone who has, so these experiences may not apply to you.
If you've only ever been reported to the police and not arrested, you could share a story about that experience instead. Who reported you to the police and why? How did you handle that situation, and what was the outcome?
I would also like to include experiences from those who have been victims of crime. What was the crime? What happened to you, and what happened to the person who committed the crime against you? If they were charged and convicted, how do you feel about the sentence they received? Did it give you closure?
