Dignified action isn't forced by circumstance. It's to have power or capacity and not use it

Aren't you confusing it with kindness? If you were stripped naked or forced to eat dog $#%^ that wouldn't be very dignified, and it would be forced by circumstance. There's no dignified way for those things to happen.

That would be something you did. It's got nothing to do with them, such justification doesn't exist.

Then maybe I don't understand what it means, I've always thought it was the opposite of humiliating.

^^ this. And yet it only applies if to use such power has negative consequences for others. If one has the power or capacity to help others but refrains from doing so, then it is not perceived as dignity.

This is the definition from a dictionary:
1.the state or quality of being worthy of honour or respect
2.a composed or serious manner or style
Yet, this can be argued also, as both depend on the the subjective perception of the observer.

Dignity is having a well thought-out set of principles and demonstrating a lack of hypocrisy when faced with circumstances that challenge them.

Honour and respect come from people recognising this in you.

It's rare; most people don't get tested beyond theory and so principles don't get challenged. Most fail when tested, because people usually have principles about stuff they've not gone through.

Issues are less black and white when you've had to deal with them personally.
I'm not arguing; I'm explaining why I'm right.
