i don't go out of my way to hurt ppl bcuz its not out of my own pain but if someone crosses my path i tend to.. fuk w them, emotionally by preference, because it does more long term damage aka i am a bigger influence on them.

Though seeing people's relationship to pain does make me curious and I like to see both the giving and receiving ends of it, I'm not sure that the knowledge that others are in pain exclusively is something that excites me. To watch gore, for instance, is for curiosity about mutilation and what it looks like and, more importantly, how the person in pain acts. Where there is somebody inflicting the pain and I'm not just staring at the person being hurt watching what's done to them and imagining what it might feel like in that terror and complete, helpless agony. It's similar when discussing other kinds of stuff that isn't gore but that paints the right picture and doesn't muddy the field with things like sexuality (mostly. I don't want to overcomplicate my answer but depending on what it is I suppose I might think it's hot. Since I talked about a dog being killed in another thread, I'll mention that this isn't something that turns me on but I wondered about others).

We all exert some influence, Shaolin. Do I imagine I have complete control? No. I think it'd be unreasonable of you to assume that somebody has no moments where they exert force enough to change something about somebody else's experience

I'm more hands-on, so I like causing physical pain to others more than anything else. I also enjoy causing psychological pain, especially when it involves creating fear in others. It can both excite and amuse me.

There can be a sexual element to it, but not always. I think it's more about power/control than their emotional response to it. It's not really about them at all because they're just a 'thing' to use and abuse, a target. It's primarily about what it does for me.

I seem to have misunderstood what sadism is and answered partially to demonstrate that I don't get satisfaction from what is better defined as schadenfreude.

Emphasising more properly on sadism: like I mentioned, control and influence is what gets me 'off' but there is an aspect of curiosity and probably warped by egocentrism that makes me quite interested in how people respond to pain and suffering (as well as other more pleasant stimulus)
