The movie I'm talking about is called PREDATORS, not Predator.

Most of the other “psychopaths” in film would actually be variations on other personality disorders (mostly npd and ppd), undoubtedly antisocial but not psychopathically so.

Just antisocial ones that have not been mentioned off the top of my head are Ils and Man bites dog.

I loved the character in that movie BUT, I feel like a psychopath would find a more effective weapon other than an entire oxygen tank and hand valve, like give me a break
It’s a bolt pistol isn't it? One of those things they use for killing livestock. Given its from a Cormac McCarthy novel is probably supposed to be symbolic.

Apparently it is, had no idea, figured it was some sort of homemade weapon

The original Mary Poppins. Watch her face when she smiles.

Too old to die young
... is the best. Excellent portrayal of psychopaths with narcissism at the core, as well as a couple of other pd's ( sociopaths, schizoids) thrown in, all to varying degrees. And very artistically done. First two episodes are tricky to get through; very slow pace, but it remains in my mind as a masterpiece. I had to forward- wind through some particularly cruel scenes, which means they were really well done.
I have no one to rave about it with. Wish someone would watch it.

vcrpamphlet wrote:Gangster movies have ASPD elements but they're hardly ASPD centric.

A Clockwork Orange is the benchmark.

Spoorloos
Funny Games
Taxi Driver
Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre
House of 1000 Corpses

The only decent list anyone has given (especially Spoorloos) and correct about gangster movies (but people like Tony Montana are more likely narc, same with Michael Corleone), but disagree with Taxi Driver, which is more likely schizotypal, and Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which is more family conditioning imo.

Though of course diagnosing movies/characters is rather superficial and illogical as it seeks to rationalize the inherent glorious irrationality of art and character/story development,but here's some;

Shadow of a Doubt (1943) (main male character is serial killer).

Murder by Contract (1958) (about a hitman, but a part near end ruins the ASPD theme).

Frenzy (1972) (featuring a rapist serial killer).

Last Chants for a Slow Dance (1977) (great non-glamorous/sexy portrayal of drifter ASPD).

Bad (1977) (dark comedic film with a bunch of hit-women antisocial types).

To Live and Die in L.A. (1985) (both the criminal and the cop fit, along with the whole movie feel).

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) (great authentic portrayal of serial killer, partially based on Henry Lee Lucas).

Basic Instinct (1992) (regardless of did she/didn't she, Catherine Tramell fits female ASPD).

Richard III (1995) (the only film version I've seen of the play so can't speak for others, but Richie fits as a mix of ASPD and Narc).

Bad Guy (2001) (mute guy kinda fits and he phucks up a girls life to get control of her).

The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things (2004) (mom in it kinda fits if I remember correctly, or maybe she's borderline, either way she treats her son just as an object for her use).

Melancholie der Engel (2009) (film being very long, German and philosophical might bore people here, but two main guys in it fit).

Killer Joe (2011) (Matthew McConaughey as the titular Joe is pretty good in this, but the whole cast of characters fits a southern white trash antisocial feel).
