First Scenario
You see a man in his mid 20's rob an old lady of her handbag. You watch him rush past her and grab it, then take off up the street. The old lady is clearly distraught by this event as it may have been all the money she had left until her next pension check.
(By 'old' I mean someone who is in their 70's or older)
What are your thoughts on this type of crime? Would you do anything to help the old lady - call the cops, offer emotional support, or chase down the robber?
Second Scenario
You discover that your neighbor is a murderer. Unbeknown to him, you happen to witness a murder that he committed.
What are you thinking? Do you report him to the police, tell someone you know, confront him or stay quiet and not say a word to anyone, knowing that he could potentially kill again?
Third Scenario
You commit a serious crime that could get you a lot of years in prison if caught and realize that a child (of approximately 11 or 12 years of age) witnessed it. She looks competent enough to be able to report you to the police if she wanted to.
What would you do?
Fourth Scenario
You're single and looking to get laid. You're out at a club one night and someone attractive starts flirting with you and hinting (in a non-sleazy way) that they'd like to have sex with you, so after awhile you invite them home. Things are getting hot and heavy and you discover that they're not the gender you thought they were. It turns out that they're transgender and have the opposite genitals to what you were expecting.
How would you react to that? What would you do in that situation?
Fifth Scenario
You took a bus trip earlier that day and discover (somehow) that someone else on that same bus had been thinking about killing you and was tempted to follow you so they could act on the urge. They obviously didn't, but they could have.
What are your thoughts on that? Does it disturb you that the possibility exists? After all, you never know who you're sitting next to on public transport.
Sixth Scenario
You're a fighter in martial arts competitions and having won multiple competitions previously, you're considered the favorite to win you're next fight, but you're not a professional fighter yet. You're still trying to earn your way to the top. The fights you compete in come with a reward that increases both your street cred and your bank account (by about $5,000) if you win. They also increase the opportunity to advance into a higher rank in the underground MMA circuit, and eventually, into UFC.
One night while preparing for your upcoming fight you're approached by the manager of your competitor. He offers you $10,000 to throw the fight (to benefit illegal betting obviously). This is twice the amount of money you'd earn from winnings (if you won), but in the eyes of everyone watching the fight, it means being the loser.
(Throwing a fight means letting the other person win)
What would you do? Would you decline the offer and risk losing everything or take the money and throw the fight? Would throwing a competition for a financial bribe bother you?
