How Would You React To These Situations

Postby Reaper » Mon Jun 03, 2019 1:39 pm

First Scenario

You see a man in his mid 20's rob an old lady of her handbag. You watch him rush past her and grab it, then take off up the street. The old lady is clearly distraught by this event as it may have been all the money she had left until her next pension check.

(By 'old' I mean someone who is in their 70's or older)

What are your thoughts on this type of crime? Would you do anything to help the old lady - call the cops, offer emotional support, or chase down the robber?

Second Scenario

You discover that your neighbor is a murderer. Unbeknown to him, you happen to witness a murder that he committed.

What are you thinking? Do you report him to the police, tell someone you know, confront him or stay quiet and not say a word to anyone, knowing that he could potentially kill again?

Third Scenario

You commit a serious crime that could get you a lot of years in prison if caught and realize that a child (of approximately 11 or 12 years of age) witnessed it. She looks competent enough to be able to report you to the police if she wanted to.

What would you do?

Fourth Scenario

You're single and looking to get laid. You're out at a club one night and someone attractive starts flirting with you and hinting (in a non-sleazy way) that they'd like to have sex with you, so after awhile you invite them home. Things are getting hot and heavy and you discover that they're not the gender you thought they were. It turns out that they're transgender and have the opposite genitals to what you were expecting.

How would you react to that? What would you do in that situation?

Fifth Scenario

You took a bus trip earlier that day and discover (somehow) that someone else on that same bus had been thinking about killing you and was tempted to follow you so they could act on the urge. They obviously didn't, but they could have.

What are your thoughts on that? Does it disturb you that the possibility exists? After all, you never know who you're sitting next to on public transport.

Sixth Scenario

You're a fighter in martial arts competitions and having won multiple competitions previously, you're considered the favorite to win you're next fight, but you're not a professional fighter yet. You're still trying to earn your way to the top. The fights you compete in come with a reward that increases both your street cred and your bank account (by about $5,000) if you win. They also increase the opportunity to advance into a higher rank in the underground MMA circuit, and eventually, into UFC.
One night while preparing for your upcoming fight you're approached by the manager of your competitor. He offers you $10,000 to throw the fight (to benefit illegal betting obviously). This is twice the amount of money you'd earn from winnings (if you won), but in the eyes of everyone watching the fight, it means being the loser.

(Throwing a fight means letting the other person win)

What would you do? Would you decline the offer and risk losing everything or take the money and throw the fight? Would throwing a competition for a financial bribe bother you?

1. entertained by old ladies reaction, only chase robber if it isn't a big hassle and i know i could drop him

2. move to a different location and watch the news

3. hmm. depends on the crime. if it was murder, then i would kill her too. if it was armed robbery, i'd take my chances.

4. get out of my house

5. interested in knowing why they wanted to kill me. possibly flattered

6. decline

I have a soft spot for old people so I would probably tend to the old lady. However, you didn't say she was knocked down or hurt, so if that was the case I might go after the punk, pointless as it may be since as of this past Saturday the crime-loving "progressive" mayor of my city has made robbery, burglary and assault practically a misdemeanor. So perhaps while I was tending to her I would take whatever jewelry she was wearing then beat her about the face and neck since I'd probably only get a $50 ticket. Just kidding.

Depends. Did the victim deserve it? If not, assuming the neighbor had no idea I'd witnessed the crime, I'd probably report it. But anonymously.

You commit a serious crime that could get you a lot of years in prison if caught and realize that a child (of approximately 11 or 12 years of age) witnessed it. She looks competent enough to be able to report you to the police if she wanted to.

I'd take her phone and threaten to throw it in the river (after uploading all of it's contents online) if she told.

Unlikely this would happen to me as I vet my sexual prospects more carefully, however if it did I would congratulate them on their passibility and them kick them the fuk out.

I wouldn't be surprised if this has happened. Yes, it would be disturbing but what can you do? I've learned to stay alert and turn defensive quickly, if necessary.

You're a fighter in martial arts competitions and having won multiple competitions previously, you're considered the favorite to win you're next fight, but you're not a professional fighter yet. I would take the ten thousand and instead of throwing the fight, I would kill my opponent. I would have a cab ready to take me to the motel where my French girlfriend was waiting for me, where we would pleasure each other orally until I realized she forgot to get my father's gold watch from my apartment. Stupid bitch. I'd retrieve the watch but on the way back to the hotel I would cross paths with the manager I double crossed, mow him down with my car, and chase him into a gun shop, but the owner would hold us both at gunpoint and lead us into the basement where his friend Zed would attempt to rape us. At this point I would escape and kill Zed with a sword, smoothing over things between me and the boxing manager.

Stolen handbag - probably do nothing because I wouldn't want to be involved and old people had a lot of time to prepare for the future so unless the crime is modern invention related it's kind of on them

Oh thanks for clarifying, I was picturing Oblivion, sorry

Murderous neighbour
- probably report it anonymously

Child witness - depending on what she saw scare her or make a run for it

Trap - no idea, sleep?

Public transport - the possibility exists outside of public transport as well, why would I care more if I was on a bus with them, maybe someone on the bus is wearing a diaper, I don't want to know that because it's out of my control

Martial arts
- depending on his (fighter's) reputation I might throw the fight if he would become my manager
