People with ASPD enjoying what is considered unpleasant

Postby IDoNotExist » Wed May 15, 2019 7:49 pm

I know there are typical things which are considered unpleasant that people with ASPD may be inclined to derive temporary enjoyment from, such as a making other people angry and despondent, causing abuse, doing too many drugs, switching jobs, etc. However, what about insignificant, odd things such as vomiting (especially when drunk), getting bruises, starving, feeling overheated, being exhausted, passing out, getting cut, seeing blood, throbbing pain, being disliked, and other typically unpleasant experiences?

If you find this to resonate with you, well, one could cite a study you may be aware of which proved that people would rather be electrically shocked than to experience consistent boredom. I can definitely say that has been proven within my life in... scaringly accurate ways.

There are some things I like that others find either unpleasant or upsetting, and/or in some cases, frightening. I mentioned some of them in the sexual deviant thread that got locked, so I won't reiterate them here.

I've noticed that a lot of people can't really relate to how think (not here specifically, just people in general) and although it's frustrating at times to have things I've shared about myself being misconstrued, I understand that my experiences in life and desires are not considered normal as far as society's standards go, so it's generally always going to get a negative reaction.

I didn't choose to enjoy these things that others find unpleasant or upsetting just to be different or cool. That's not how I see it. I just think it's how my brain is wired and this is what stimulates it.

I like going to the dentist and having them mess with my teeth.

One of them once even acknowledged the fact that I was enjoying it.

She said "Manners73, you're enjoying this aren't you?"

I said "yes, is that unusual?"

She just laughed. She was very sexy.

^this is so cute.

I'm like that too. I especially enjoy scaling. How fresh does my mouth feel after a dentists appointment. It feels so clean and I can breathe through the gaps in my teeth!

I think I like the attention of dentists as well. They're so damn sexy when they scold for talking while the drill is going.

I think I like that medical chair as well.

I'm like that when I go to the sex clinic. When they drawing blood I'm secretly wiggling my toes in excitement.

This is exactly the type of response I was expecting. Slightly humorous.

I agree with this. I love going to the dentist.

A part of it originates from neglect. A part from mimicking the environment. A part from abuse.

It makes sense that if you're idle growing up, you'd also fill the void with activities that aren't constructive. Not ASPD but I can relate with idleness being a breeding ground for bad habits. As for abuse, whether we lean on the side of abuser or abusee, we equally prolongate abuse internally even after we have become adult.

I didn't know I'd been abused until I did that ace test. I feel like shite now.

It's the last time I do a test.
