The diagnosis itself had no effect. It was not explained to me what it meant and I had no idea what it meant for over a decade
I don't believe in personality disorders anymore. To me its just a fancy pseudo-scientific way to say "You don't conform to the standards of todays capitalist western society". Its just pathologizing personalities that don't completely fit in with the rest
As for effects of ASPD in my life. I have spent about half my adult life in prison. I can't think of any positive effect that I would attribute to a "disorder" - I am whoever I am, not just a collection of "illegal" behaviors, which is what ASPD is describing
Agreed, it’s basically like saying your personality sucks and you don’t fit into the mold like the rest of the mindless zombies
