How has time changed you?

Postby easiersaidthandone » Fri Nov 30, 2018 11:55 am

I'm interested in how your personality and behavior changed from 20-25 when your pfc fully matured, and from 25-30.

But, feel free to detail how it changed earlier or later than that.
I don't fake it. I just make it.

I was largely unaware that I'm antisocial to recent weeks, and I'm 30 now. I don't see this, the biggest and most dangerous thing I did was two years ago, now I'm a bit resigned that I did not succeed. I still have children's enthusiasm and curiosity about the world. I hope it stays with me and I will not change with time.

its hard to differentiate circumstances and personality, as i tend to adapt with the situation quite nicely.

well, 20-25.. college to early work. a lot happened. bad things, good things, and i don't really feel like my personality changed all that much maybe i got more frustrated with life as things slowly pan out to be not how i imagined.

i am very optimistic and when i dont get my way it makes me very angry

so more anger, more frustration, but better able to compartmentalize it than when i was yonger.

25-30, a lot happened as well. i say the negative that happened built me up as a person in regards to my patience, charity, good-person being. took a step back to take a step in another direction. then again, i took a couple steps back in other regards as well and you know what fuk it i dont know the answer i hate this questions

in general, from 20-30, nothing really changed except the cercumstances. im wiser. thats it.

Did part of you know you were different somehow?

I'm in my mid 40's and my personality hasn't changed since my teens, at least not in any significant way that made any real difference. I haven't matured yet and I doubt I ever will.

I've slowed down with age behavior-wise. That didn't really start happening until I hit 40 or maybe a bit earlier. My mindset has stayed the same throughout though.

Yes - I knew that I have to pretend and hide who I am really because people will recognize me as a bad person and will not like me. That I have to control my impulses and real reactions. I suspected rather narcissism tbh than sociopathy or psychopathy, because I imagined people with ASPD more like very aggressive criminals, devoid of ideals, aiming only at simple pleasure, rather the manipulative and physically weak person like me, fanatically devoted, ready to give my life for the idea. Maybe I still take this into account, because I do not have an official diagnosis yet, but I treat my identity very blurry, and it seems that I have a genetic predisposition to psychopathy.

You said in another post that you experience guilt and shame. From my understanding, psychopaths don't experience guilt or shame. If you genuinely felt it (you gave the impression you did, but claimed you chose to) then how does that correlate with psychopathy? Maybe it's more likely in secondary psychopathy? (If there really is such a thing)

I've never heard of a psychopath choosing to feel guilt before. That doesn't sound right. As far as I'm aware, guilt isn't a choice. If you're genuinely feeling it, then it's real.

sometimes when you hang around non disordered people you get a sense of what you should and should not feel guilty about. trying on their shoes is just an excersize, but i doubt mysza actually felt it to the core. at least not enough to change his behavior, or in my case.

Does anyone feel guilt to the core? What does that even mean?

From what I've seen, different people experience guilt differently. It affects them differently, depending on how serious the situation was that caused them to feel guilty or their ability to deal with it. How mysza experienced guilt doesn't make it any less real if it was genuinely felt.

I understand faking guilt, but he (or she) didn't give the impression that they fake it. He wouldn't have said this otherwise:

Why would a psychopath feel it voluntarily? It doesn't make any sense.

I started to think that I'm not psychopatic, but other things in my life (like perceiving people as complicated or simple mechanism or other things) makes not sense now. Strange.
For example, I have traits of body that are objectively ugly, which is rational to feel shame, so I decide to experience this shame, even if I know I could not experience it and when I see someone other don't care, I decide also to not care because it's pointless to pretend.
