If there's another slightly less apathetic part of you that'll still explore ideas if they're reasonable enough, perhaps that part will have more control if you let yourself feel the reality of boredom more.

I've been watching you go on about this sales career stuff. It's in your better interests that people are aware of your SPD and tendency to create fantasies instead of living them, else become unwitting contributors to your dysfunction. In the past, you've created an elaborate mirage of a corporate executive type, when you are in fact a kid, who barely leaves home, who works in a gas station, and who's never had sex yet. It was a big thing when it came out; some people were livid. I think I defended you, actually.

Any emphasis you're detecting is towards having a value in you. That's always been the case.

I actually think it's the opposite, that you're projecting. It's your own ego that perceives my intellectual earnestness as having a superiority complex, because you yourself have one. I do post with more repulsive vanity when stoned though.

It's possible to be competitive and not take it seriously and still want your fellow players to be just as good as you think you are.

If you actually go to uni next year, then I'll be genuinely stoked. Smiling in total seclusion, when I don't even know your first name.

I don't know why or how I think this way, but it's far and away the biggest motivator behind any interaction that I have with you. I used to like the idea of engaging with you on philosophical stuff, but then when I prodded you on Wittgenstein once you backed away; and I'm also just terrible with interacting with anyone half the time anyway. It seemed like you'd formed a habit of liking the idea of being smart rather than actually being smart, shooting off little paragraphs of genius here and there, but not ever enjoying the mechanics of it that much.
