His entire life is a brick wall. Yes, I'm frustrated with it, insofar as I like him. That's how feelings work.

And this is perfectly fine for open forum discussion.

I don’t engage you because you insert ego into every conversation. You got touchy when you thought I would t talk to you

was it true a year ago?

He was still a virgin when I was posting back in jan/feb, and was working a gas station last year.

I mean, just the sheer number of mentions of his new job is enough to cast doubt, let alone the pattern.

You know that this is an ineffective way of getting someone to like you back. Especially if they schizoid.

^so you're trying to demonstrate courage by trying to be disliked by someone who you so clearly want to be liked by?
That seems unnecessarily convoluted. Am I missing something here?

Edit: I would never touch any book with a blurb that reads like a sales pitch. If they can't summarize the central idea in a way that makes me desire to know how to derive it from first principles, urgh. Just packaging.

No, it wasn't Eight.
When we had the discord spell, I posted plenty of picture evidence of the life I was living.

It's a call to play and I've got enough friends

Some stuff. I had nearly 3 years of basically nothing external to myself. Shut myself out completely. Talked to people on here who wondered whether schizoid-like behaviour void of stimulation is my natural state. 2 days later I took a job in a petrol station for about 3 months to see if it would make any difference to my mental state. It did. I'd forgotten how much I actually like interaction. It's connecting I'm not so great at. So I got into sales. Gave me a social platform in a transactional setting. Been perfect so far.

Off-topic, but this actually got me thinking.

The point I made about projecting still stands, but you have a point, more so than just pointing out I'm narcissistic. In my defense though, I think a lot of people do it.

I this, me that, my thinking, my reply; you this, you that; your thinking, your mistake; etc.

It's authentic for the most part, but looking at it for the effect it can produce, it's one of the first things they coach a sales manager to change. I'll tell myself that I'm thinking logically, which may be true, but it's logic within an ego-centric atmosphere. I'm not being smart about the kind of atmosphere that I'm contributing to; i.e. not thinking about how I'm communicating very much.

I don't know why, to be honest. It feels like the narcissist in me uses this place as an outlet sometimes; especially when high and/or hypomanic. So of course SS has a point - it's often the energy of someone highly self-absorbed. But the beauty of disorders is how complex they can be. Everyone comes here with more self-absorption than you see elsewhere - just what it means to have a mental condition. I don't have a sense of superiority inside me, but I can be incredibly vain about certain virtues that have been identified throughout my life. It's that particular orientation of my ego that can be so repulsive to people at times.

But stripping all that back to the literal meaning of the word, just the constant I-You'ing is what I wouldn't mind working on. I don't think it's as pronounced in person, but it's something I haven't looked at for a few years.

Doesn't make a difference. You got a taste of me and you stopped wanting to indulge it. :)

We can have a catch-up. If trust's still an issue for you, I can aid it-- promise there'll be no blood in the next set

Will, I'm closing ends in my responses because this isn't the topic I was interested in discussing. You're capable of doing this elsewhere.

I'm not going to be convinced away from the idea that you sandbagged the topic because it felt to you like the easiest way to get yourself heard but I dont really want to listen to you right now
