Question Regarding Sociopathy

Postby maddykins462 » Mon Aug 13, 2018 8:08 pm

Hi all I’m in Canada...

I have proceeded to go to a psychologist with my concerns about sociopathy.
My psychologist does not have the proper testing for sociopathy.

I know myself better then anybody else, I cannot feel empathy I’m numb 24/7.
I took the 2 online tests the Haare Psychopathy Test and the Levenson Psychopathy test.
I tryed to attach the photo of the one test I took which was the Levenson Psychopathy Test.
I scored 4.6 on the sociopathy factor of the testing.
Although, unfortunately it said the photo is not big enough.
I have also looked up traits of Sociopathy copied and pasted it into my notes and made stars with all the traits I experience. I had about most likely 85% of the traits that were listed.

I know some people in their opinion their is no way you can truly know if you’re a sociopath.
So how do you proceed to call yourself a sociopath?

If you can help me regards to where the heck I can get testing that would be great.
I want testing to confirm my suspicions whether I am a sociopath or not.

Right now I classify myself as a High-Functioning Sociopath but I need the verification.
My psychologist seems to have no comprehension regards to what sociopathy is.
Instead she proceeded with giving me personality testing. With my suspicions of being a sociopath I have researched them well, I heard glimpses of sociopathy when she read out the results.
Even only with the personality testing some parts of it was not regarding to sociopathic traits.
Although, she still proceeded to be blind to the fact of what sociopathy is.

I’m really getting annoyed with the fact people are seeing my masks and don’t know the real me.
I’m assuming this psychologist hears from everyone how nice I am but it is my mask, to be honest.
I’m a deciveful person, I wear my mask around people generally. The astonishing thing is that my mask comes off sometimes around people and how they are blind to see it is also astonishing.

So if someone could help me that would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Even Canadian sociopaths are disturbingly polite.

That sounds like depression.

Self-testing is really not a good way to determine what you have because you may not know yourself as well as you think you do.

Although, unfortunately it said the photo is not big enough.

It would be more a case of the photo being too big. The dimensions can be no bigger than 480 pixels wide and 600 pixels long. Don't bother posting a pic of your tests results though. It's not going to help you.

I know some people in their opinion their is no way you can truly know if you’re a sociopath.
So how do you proceed to call yourself a sociopath?

You can have an idea or suspicion, but you can't know for certain without proper, professional testing.

If you can help me regards to where the heck I can get testing that would be great.
I want testing to confirm my suspicions whether I am a sociopath or not.

Stop using the word sociopath for starters. The recognized term used in the DSM 5 is Antisocial Personality Disorder. I understand your curiosity, but it's really not in your best interests to be tested for AsPD.

Right now I classify myself as a High-Functioning Sociopath but I need the verification.

Why?

My psychologist seems to have no comprehension regards to what sociopathy is.
Instead she proceeded with giving me personality testing.

I assume you mean she was testing you on all the personality disorders. She has to do that in order to make a thorough assessment. It wouldn't make any sense to just test you for AsPD and nothing else. You may not even have AsPD, you might have a different PD or maybe none at all.

With my suspicions of being a sociopath I have researched them well, I heard glimpses of sociopathy when she read out the results.
Even only with the personality testing some parts of it was not regarding to sociopathic traits.
Although, she still proceeded to be blind to the fact of what sociopathy is.

It sounds more like she just doesn't think you're a sociopath. In other words, you probably don't have AsPD. If you believe you do, link the traits here that apply to you and why they apply to you.

I’m really getting annoyed with the fact people are seeing my masks and don’t know the real me.

The whole point of a 'mask' is to not to reveal the real you. If you think they're seeing only a 'mask' and not the real you when you've revealed yourself, then maybe it's you who is not seeing the real you.
