You don't want your children believing that women should have equal rights?

Do you feel threatened by women?

I had absolutely zero parenting skills and that is why my daughter didn't live with me until she was 16.

Shes great...single minded, intelligent, focused and a credit to herself.

I would want my kids to know that anybody is fair game and besides what’s beneficial to them there isn’t any ideal to strive for or value to follow.

I mean if they are empathetic then that follows psychological egoism still. But telling them feminism is right because everybody else deserves a chance to isn’t what I’m going to want them thinking. I also don’t want them thinking they should make concessions because people are weaker or ‘equal’

I don't think you should need to talk to them about feminism at all unless they raise the subject. Let them decide for themself what they want to believe in that regard.

The problem with 'feminism' is that most people claiming to be feminists are not actually feminists at all. They have a personal agenda that goes against what feminism is really all about and gives it a bad name.

The term 'feminism' it'self is part of the problem because it creates an US vs Them (I can't think of the right word here) impression that these women are manhaters, which is simply not true.

I think if people are going to voice their opinion on feminism they should at least educate themselves on what it actually is rather than believing the voice of public opinion.

Despite hearing many times that women get paid less then men, I've not personally seen a trend. I've had more female managers than I have male. Some were ok, some were f*cked in the head, trying to be mean and tough but prone to crying when things got tough.

What I have seen is that certain jobs tend to be avoided by women. Working in a technical industry, there are a handful of women doing the on-the-ground jobs but they tend to be the tom-boy, short-haired sort, not the girlie "what if I break a nail?" type.

There are lots of girls in HR, not many in tech support. Lots in order management, not so many installers.
I'm not arguing; I'm explaining why I'm right.

Women under 40 get paid more on average than men at this point

I don’t really care so long as it doesn’t inhibit me but the biggest discrepancy is in the older generation where the guys who got to the top have stayed there.

In the sales environment I work in there are some girls who are good at what they do and no nonsense managers but they seem to break down under stress too which is interesting.

The sales force on the floor below us who do retail must be 40% female whic is interesting

How would you if you're not in the business of paying wages to employees or keeping track of their financial records. I doubt you've ever even cared what your colleagues are getting paid, male or female.

I've worked multiple jobs in the past. I wouldn't have any idea what my colleagues were getting paid in comparison and I wasn't about to ask.

Most people just assume they're getting paid the same wage as someone else doing the same job, regardless of gender, because that's how it should be, but research indicates that it's not.

Your interpretation of the female manager trying to be 'mean and tough' could just be her trying to compete with her male colleagues. Women are expected to prove themselves in the workforce, particularly in positions that are normally male-dominated, and since most women are naturally more emotional than most men it should be no surprise that the stress of competition may cause the odd emotional breakdown in some women (not all). Of course, some women just aren't suited to that role and neither are some men.
