Definitely disagree

Rarely is that ever the case. It may happen on occasion, but most times it doesn't.

Well.. one can very well understand the joke and not find it funny at all. I have days that I’m not so easily amused. Humour is tricky. It’s also a cultural thing. German humour bores me. It’s just alien. Never understood a German joke in my life .

Don’t understand why Americans are so smiley either. When it comes to this , for me exaggerated, expressions of smiley happiness are fake. Having they said- tips for reading . Barbara Ehrenreich Smile or Die / Brightsided

Allow me to help:

I think you've been taking this whole online thing a bit too seriously.

These smileys are rarely representative of our emotions. It's fun to emote when text after text is so hard on the eyes.

And your over analytic style is really unjustified in a place (online) that can be so... mercurial.

Your score was 9 out of a possible 50.
Scores in the 0-25 range indicate little or no Autistic traits.

An aspie mod makes sense here. Less corruptible than others.

German humour is extremely mechanistic, like music played by a musician who can hear the notes but not the melody.
as if in a broken jug for one backwards moment

I think you misunderstand me. It is more curiosity. They are symbols conveying emotions. We speak about emotions and you write threads about emotions and feelings. When you use those I wonder about the relation between those and feelings.

When I write LOL i actually laugh out loud. (well, not this time around).

I was actually blamed at various instances during the summer for not using emojis at all. Including told about this in PM - In addition I got a tip to put a smiley after each line. But I thought that was a bit over the top.

I am not sure what you mean with your last sentence though. You are welcome to explain that.

The more that people use emojis the less intelligent I tend to perceive them.

I guess it is the same with using shorthand words like ppl or tnks.

We have our different associations when it comes to these things.
I definetly share your opinion when it comes to the second one.
