for example, in agrarian societies men's physical labour was highly valued, so women were relatively neglected. in developed service sector societies men are neglected because...well women are better at offering services

truth is society doesn't give a sh*t about its members, and you will be subject to stupid trends

if there was an apocalypse men would probably be most valued again

women tend to acquire an illusion about themselves in more technological/advanced societies

^ I wonder how that mindset doesnt foster paranoia though, due to projection? Or can paranoia be a strength?

Anyways men are treated like they are disposable these days, sending them to fight and die in wars like all they are is a meat shield.

I think women have and always will be valued for their ability to have offspring. Sperm is cheap. Only one man is needed to repopulate after an apocalypse. Especially as technology makes brute strength less important. The ability to think and perform skilled labor is more important the more we advance.

The Maltese Falcon, 1941. Character; Kasper Gutman aka the fat man, played by Sydney Greenstreet........ I first saw this film when I was around 8 years old and Herr Gutman was like coming home for me, I was sold instantly, I had found my elder self.

Gutman is a very large, psychically notable man obviously and immaculate dressed. As I have become myself...... Effusively polite, apparently unendingly reasonable but of course a complete psychopath. Again....... He is a driven person who refuses to stop, with scant regard for the cost to others or even ultimately himself, the goal is all.

Myself I relate entirely, there is no need for rudeness, it is not a prerequisite required for even the most extreme activities or skulduggery..... As for life without a pertinent goal to strive for; what is the point?

'Pertinant' means specifically relevant, not suitable; and semicolons are used for pronouncing clause separation, not pauses when there's a pre-suggestive clause link.

i find the rules of written language to be arbitrary, and i have always considered the semi-colon to just be a longer pause.

if written language evolved out of oral language, how could such rules be inherent to language use? there is no 'oral' equivalent of the semi-colon, other than as a longer pause second only to the period.

if the purpose of written language is really to just communicate, as in the case of oral language as it was originally, then rules should not matter as long as the meaning conveyed is clear.

i think the rules of written language, like the use of vocabulary, were just developed as a way for groups to distinguish themselves from other classes, similar in the way clothing is used as a status symbol and class distinction, when its origins were purely practical (to cover/protect the body, etc)

My goals are specifically relevant. No idea what it is like in the bottom of barrel maybe it is different there, who cares.... But do I really have to endlessly say "Pedants.... {mod edit}"

Do I actually look like I give a {mod edit} what you a thing like you thinks, {mod edit}

Read my signature... get the point.

why are you inserting '{mod edit}' into your posts?

it's happening too fast for them to be true mod edits...and the mods don't edit like that...they put "* mod edit *"
