Oh I like reaper, but I don't see alpha the same way. A forum sans reaper would be less amusing, she's more the jester though - alphajester would be a good user name

Understand your meaning; alpha is relative to the group.

She can defend herself perfectly fine, so I'm taking an exit here.

There's nothing to defend. I don't give a shlt what she thinks of me.

I'm off to bed. I'm supposed to be getting up in two and a half hours.

indeed, reaper is a dominant poster but she is not a dominant personality in general.

and that's self-evident when anyone pushes back.

indeed, i think most of us do appreciate reaper starting threads and her advice is descent if not cliche.

but poster =/= personality :)

also, you are a little biased. you are confusing your preference for certain types leading with your perception of dominance.

just because you want reaper to be dominant doesn't mean she is.

also, that many of the newbies gravitate to reaper is more a testament of the types of people that tend to gravitate to this forum and who in turn reaper gravitates toward.

don't you notice many of the newbies are similar in personality?

we get the odd true Aspd and they tend to find reaper laughable. paulsmith being the most recent.

P.S - paul i was just testing you saying i would fill your ball sack with bird seed. i hope you post some more. i think you were the first genuine Aspd/psychopath in a long time and it was refreshing :)

however i understand if you don't want to post here what with all the reaperism and equally misplaced groupie newbies dominating the forum..

actually i would rather elaborate on a different more relevant point.

anyone who serves the forum AND is a model of the topic, no matter how cliche, will rise to prominence.

this applies to all situations. people support people who most embody and contribute to the topic or goal of any situation.

but can you imagine reaper 'dominant' in any other situation?

i don't see dominance in her personality generally, and when people do push back even online she seeks escape.

i see her fearful and timid nature internally, which is why i don't personally drive her out when she irks me.

because she amuses me :)

why do you guys need a leader/model? why can't you see yourselves as nations coming together in an anarchic situation and talking?

it's societal conditioning all the way down.

very un-Aspd like :)

The Member/s -

- With the most interesting posts:

stream freak, Reaper, Purple8. Will is a bit of a newcomer but I enjoy everything he posts.

- Who seem the most honest/genuine:

Candied Arsenic

- Who seem the most dishonest/delusional/fake:

Something about MrsB just doesn't add up. Its hard to believe the majority of what she claims about herself and her life. Perhaps a fraction is true.

- Who seem genuinely psychopathic and/or antisocial:

Audacisist

- Who is the most egotistical:

Probably crystal.

- Who is the most intelligent:

Will seems to have the most all-around intelligence. Well read on a variety of topics and clear-headed and nondelusional in his opinions.

Courtier is extremely well-read and also very good at writing, but often something about his posts seem a bit over the top, as if he's trying to bedazzle, rather than focus on content alone. That detracts a bit, for me, but he is doubtless among the smartest people I've ever encountered online.

crystal appears to have a very good vocabularly and obviously natural intelligence, but from the majority of her posts I get the impression she is simply trying to justify her lifestyle choices to herself and everyone else, rather than trying to arrive at some ultimate truth. She also seems to need to cushion her ego quite a bit, and in the end, I just start to feel as if I'm reading a lot of mental masturbation by a person trying to appease her wounded self-image, of which she is deeply in denial. If she did not have a PD, she would have been a fantastic lawyer or some sort of politician.

Reaper is intelligent in a very refreshing, nonpretentious way. She does not seem to need the pomp and circumstance and can often call things out in a very direct, brass tacks way, which I like very much.

fiveintime and Tiberus.

- Who seems the most mentally disordered:

Probably crystal.

- Who seems the most normal:

Eight.

- Who has the most followers:

Not sure anyone here really has followers? Things shift quickly. Best friends today and enemies tomorrow.

- Who is most likely to have a warrant out for their arrest:

Audacisist

- Who is most likely to thrive in the prison system:

Audacisist

- Who is most likely to become someone's prison bitch:

crystal

- Who seems the most aggressive/violent:

Reaper

- Who seems the most impulsive:

MrSigma

- Who would make the best villain in a movie:

MrSigma or Courtier

- Who would make the best hero in a movie:

Tiberus

- Who would make a good moderator for this forum:

fiveintime

- Who has the best avatar:

Courtier, actually also the worst and the wierdest

- Who would most likely win a Sexiest Member contest if all the members of this forum were in the competition:

graveflower

- Who you would permanently kick off this forum if you could:

I guess you can all stay.

If you can think of any other categories, be sure to add them in your reply.

Will Incandenza wrote:Reaper has a point about dominance. One worth strengthening, actually: A cerebrally dominant person in the real world will always be dominant in an online setting, or will have to hedge their dominance to a degree; a person who's dominant online might be dominant in the real world (their dominance may have circumstantial considerations); a person who's unable to be dominant online, is highly unlikely to be dominant elsewhere. If they are, it'd likely be down to physicality, which is extremely context-orientated.

There's very few truly dominant posters on this forum, and it seems obvious that Reaper's one of them. Whether or not she's as dangerous as people decide to extrapolate from her posts, has little bearing on whether or not she's a dominant personality. Being dominant and dangerous are two very different things---they just overlap, in some cases.

No.

people downplay their traits and abilities all the time for various reasons. reaper does the opposite.

this isn't about who can be dominant online it's about who wants to be and why would they.

it makes more sense to downplay those traits. there is no prize people. contrary to thread title..
